The house is within walking distance of the famous town of St Rémy de Provence and its ancient Roman town of 'Glanum’, on the foothills of the beautiful Alpilles mountains and surrounded by the historic cities of Avignon, Arles, Nîmes and Aix en Provence. The Luberon and Camargue national parks are also very close as is the Mediterranean Sea - within an hour’s drive. The whole region is rich in history. This is 'Roman Provence' - with numerous monuments, arenas and amphitheatres - Arles, Nîmes, Orange etc, not forgetting the incredible 'Pont du Gard' near Uzes or the amazing mausoleum and triumphal arch of St.Rémy itself. Van Gogh spent some years in Arles and St.Rémy (at the sanitorium which still exists) and produced some of his most captivating paintings in this area. St. Rémy de Provence is a very picturesque historical town, lined all around with plane trees and abundant shops, cafés and restaurants along the boulevard and in the charming squares.

Changeover day

Notes on accommodation
The accommodation is on 1 level, has light airy rooms and benefits from the original tiled floors and high ceilings. The main bedroom opens out to the gravelled courtyard and garden. The kitchen, with its wooden dining table and bistrot chairs, is well equipped (dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven/hob – no microwave!) to make use of the fresh local produce available in the colourful markets and shops. It is open plan to the comfortable sitting room which looks onto the lawned garden and pool. The house is equipped with broadband internet connection. There are ample areas to eat and relax outside, whether under the shade of the old almond tree or beneath the spreading mulberry lying in a hammock. Entry to the house is through electric gates which offer safe parking and seclusion.

On the whole the property is suitable for elderly or handicapped people, although there are 2 steps down from the rear terrace to the pool area.

The golf course des Baux and Servannes near Mouries are in the immediate Alpilles mountains with numerous other courses not too far away including Pont Royal near Aix (50 minutes).

50% of the rental confirms the booking with a completed booking form which we provide. Payment is usually by bank transfer. The remains of the rental cost to be received within 2 months of tenants arrival. A 400 euros returnable deposit is taken against breakages, telephone costs, the final clean and heating in the winter months.
