Le Duquerie is a small cottage in a quiet location with private garden but with easy access to sites of interest such as Bayeux, the D-Day beaches, Mont St Michel and miles of lovely beaches. 4 kms from historic town of Coutances.

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day in July and August is Saturday but otherwise is flexible.

Accessibility
There is limited access for disabled people. Inside the cottage everything is on one level but the doors are not wide enough to allow the passage of wheelchairs. There is one step up to the second door (optional entry). Please let me know if you wish to use this door as furniture has to be re-arranged slightly. Otherwise just three steps up to main door.
Outside
Opposite the cottage is the open garage and outdoor breakfast area. Behind the cottage there is a private garden with a terrace, perfect for lazing in the comfortable garden chairs. There is also a small barbecue.
Coast/Beach
Hauteville sur Mer - about 15 minutes by car.
Other beaches at Agon Coutainville, Pirou, St Germain sur Ay - there are miles of clean sandy beaches within 30 minutes drive. D-Day beaches on the east coast about 1 hour's drive to the nearest.
Golf
Courses at Agon Coutainville about 20 minutes by car Bréhal (Municipal course). Also at St Martin d'Aubigny.
Travel
Airports at Dinard and Rennes about 1hr 45 minutes by car
Ports: Cherbourg and Caen about 1hr 30, Le Havre 2 hours. A car or other transport is essential in most parts of Normandy where public transport is very limited.
Distances
Coutances 5 minutes by car.
Mont St Michel about 1 hour.
Bayeux for the tapestry and cathedral about 1 hour 30.
D-Day beaches about 1 hour 30 on average.
Day trips to Jersey on an express crossing leave from Granville port - 30 minutes drive - subject to tide times
Further details
In Coutances you will find bakeries, supermarkets, restaurants, theatre, cinema, museums, gardens and in May each year the Jazz festival lasts for one week, Jazz sous les Pommiers. There are many sporting facilities, tennis, squash, swimming, in the sports centre. The tourist office is open every day for all information and bookings.
Villedieu les Poeles is only 20 minutes away by car, a lovely old town with many medieval buildings, centre for copper and pewter, with a bell foundry which can be visited.
Booking notes
On completion of booking form a deposit of £50 is payable with the balance due four weeks before the start of your holiday. Electricity used (less a daily allowance of 4 units) is paid in euros on the departure day. Gas for cooking is included in the rental charge.
