Villa Orientale is in a quiet residential setting, on the edge of the medieval village of Puimisson (population 800). The very private garden with no overlooking neighbours has a brand new pool (8x4m) with Roman steps. Extensive tiling around the pool with plenty of space for 6 sunloungers. The shaded terrace with dining table is perfect for relaxing barbecues. The garden has Mediterranean flowers, plants and trees. Relax in the hammock in the shaded corner of the garden. The interior was completely refreshed in 2007. Many paintings and crafts from Japan, China and India create the 'oriental' theme. Puimisson is an authentic winemaking village with basic shops (3 mins walk away), surrounded by vineyards. The locals are friendly and welcoming. The larger village of Magalas is a 5 minute drive and has several restaurants, a large supermarket and UK cash machine facilities. Endless Mediterranean beaches are only 25 minutes away. Spain and Provence only 1.5 hours away by motorway.

Bookings run from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am. We can be flexible during the period October-April.

Accessibility
This single-storey villa is set above the street level. There are a number of stairs from the parking area to the villa.

Coast/Beach
25 minutes to Valras Plage with many excellent beachfront restaurants and cafes, watersports, etc. Vendres Plage nearby is more peaceful. Resort of Cap d'Agde (40 minutes) has beaches, huge water park, nice shops and nightlife etc. This is the sunniest part of France, receiving an average of 300 days of sunshine each year.
Golf
Golf at Beziers (15 minutes) and Lamalou les Bains (30 minutes).
Travel
Many airports, all served by budget airlines, to choose from: the closest is Beziers-Cap d'Agde (BZR) served by Ryanair - - only 30 minutes from the villa. Montpellier, Carcasonnne and Perpigan are all roughly 1 hour. Nimes is about 1.5 hours. Marseille, Toulouse, Rodez and Girona (Spain): about 2 hours. Direct TGV access to Paris (4 hrs) and the UK from Beziers station (15 minutes from the villa).
Car hire is essential to enjoy this stunning area.
Distances
The pretty market town of Pezenas (30 mins) has a thriving Saturday market, antique shops and many restaurants. The city of Beziers (10 mins) has grand boulevards and sidestreets packed with stylish shops. It is famed for its August fiesta of flamenco and bullfighting. The Parc Regional du Haut Languedoc, 25 mins north, has dramatic mountain scenery. Gorges provide great trekking, rock climbing and waterfall bathing. The Canal du Midi, a world heritage site, is 20 minutes away.
Further details
In the town of Puimission there are basic shops: bakery, epicerie (meat, cheeses, fruit), cafe/bar, and tobacco store. These are a three minute walk from the villa. Don't forget to enjoy the local wine. There are endless opportunties nearby for winetastings at the local 'caves', including one only 100m from the villa! Make sure you try the delicous and refreshing rose. The town of Beziers, population 75,000, is only 10 mins away and has all amenities, shops, etc.
Booking notes
We require a 25 percent deposit to secure a booking, the balance payable 8 weeks before the holiday start date, bank transfers only please. We ask for a security deposit of 300 euros, which is returned by bank transfer soon after the holiday. Prices are for the entire property, per week. Payments accepted in euros.
