This is our second home, totally refurbished to high standard and equipped with every home comfort.There is ample storage in the apartment and ski/boot storage in the cave. Newly fitted kitchen (with dishwasher) and bathroom (full size bath + shower). The main bedroom has a very comfy double bed and the second bedroom has new 3ft substantial bunk beds with comfortable sprung mattresses. There is a TV/DVD with UK satellite TV and ample supply of DVDs to watch. There is a large south facing balcony, ideal for sunbathing and taking in the breathtaking views and air. Due to the resorts high altitude, skiing is available all year round. Deux Alpes also has the largest snow park in Europe. The resort has a lot to offer people of all ages both during the winter and summer seasons. It has a large resident community who are extremely welcoming and friendly. There are lots of good restaurants and bars, a few nightclubs for the younger age group - all in all a good all round resort.

Notes on prices
Prices are for week in UK Pounds and include meet and greet and utilities. Holding deposit of £200 upon booking with full payment 2 months before arrival. Security deposit payable (credit card swipe) on arrival to key holder refunded on departure minus mandatory cleaning fee - bed linen at 10 euros per person. Ski passes, lessons, off piste guiding, equipment hire, helicopter etc can all be arranged. Winter Season: early December - last weekend April. Summer Season: mid June - end of August.

Changeover day
Preferable changeover Saturday/Sunday but we are flexible during non-peak times, please ask. In non peak times will also consider lets of shorter than 1 week - again please ask.

Bedroom 2 with good size comfortable bunk beds plus storage.
Bathrooms: Newly fitted luxury bathroom with full size bath and good powerful shower with glass screen. Vanity unit with drawers and cupboards, mirror over. Heated towel rail. Separate wc. with additional wash hand basin and storage cabinets and mirror.
Kitchen: Newly fitted fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, induction hob, combination oven (microwave and conventional) fridge, toaster, kettle and tea pot! Fully equipped with everything you need for those who like to cook.
Utility Room: Vacuum cleaner, iron, ironing board, snow shovel, brushes and mop etc.
Living Rooms: Picturesque view from the lounge over Venosc valley and the Muzelle mountain. Leather sofa plus rocking chair, coffee tables etc. UK Satellite TV and DVD. (Some DVDs available but you could bring your own). Radio/CD player. Dining table and 6 chairs.
Other: Parking available outside the apartment. The apartment is in a private chalet made up of 4 privately owned apartments(see photograph). There are stairs to the apartment which is elevated. Outside lighting on the south west facing balcony. Stunning views.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment itself has recently been rated by "Clevances" - French tourist organisation - and awarded a prestigious 3 keys rating. The building is a chalet with just 4 private apartments in the chalet. The cave/ski storage for the apartment is on the ground floor with the apartment being on the first floor, reached by means of a staircase to the balcony. The balcony is large,south facing and secured by a gate making it safe for children to play outside, also the perfect place for your aperitif in the sun whilst overlooking the stunning views! There are other similar size apartments available for rental in the same road if you are part of a group.

Accessibility
There is no lift and there are some steps to the front of the chalet.

Outside
South west facing, large enclosed balcony attracting all day sunshine. During the summer, patio table and chairs provided - a wonderful quiet place to sit, enjoy the stunning mountain views, take in the clean air and sunbathe. Our favourite spot for an apres-ski aperitif!

Coast/Beach
The chalet is situated approximately 400 metres from the Telecabine du Diable, which is being replaced ready for the Winter Season 2011/12 with a 6-man high speed covered chair lift giving speedy access to the mountain. The nursery slopes are also in the same area.

There is a small golf course open during summer months

Skiing
Les Deux Alpes village is at 1650 and has a large amount of skiing from 1300m - 3600m suitable for all abilities. In particular the runs on the glacier are wide and suitable for beginners and intermediates. he more challenging runs are mainly coming back down to the village. The snow park is the largest in Europe and has a huge variety of jumps, runs and half-pipes etc. During the summer there is glacier skiing, mountain biking, paragliding, festivals and lots of other sports and events. There is a skating rink and outdoor swimming pool. Add to this a huge range of apres-ski options and the lift-linked descent to La Grave, and you have a very special destination.

Special interest holidays
Apart from all the usual ski and snowboard activities, during the summer months, there are a wide variety of other activities such as mountain biking, fishing, bungee jumping, golf, paragliding, white water rafting etc plus there is a large skateboard ramp, tennis, a small golf course and other various sporting activities. The walks are also beautiful and the resort lays on a whole range of activities which vary from week to week.

Travel
Nearest airports are Lyon and Grenoble with regular flights from all the UK airports to both. Bus links from both airports plus car hire available - you could be at the resort in under 2 hours from Lyon. You could also fly to Chambery, St Etienne, Geneva and Turin. Les Deux Alpes is approximately 7-8 hour drive from Calais and easily accessible by car.

Valloire 62km. Montgenevre and the Italian Alps 74km.

Further details
You will be met by our very helpful key holder who will be on hand during your stay in case of any queries. She can arrange a variety of activities, transfers and/or provide resort information. To arrange ski lessons in advance with English instructor please contact me for 'easiski' website address. The apartment is only a short walk from all shops, restaurants, bars etc - there is a supermarket, pattisserie, butcher all close by and there is nothing nicer than popping up for your fresh bread and croissants each morning. We can recommend the very local 'L'Etable' or very friendly 'Doume's' restaurants nearby as well as the Michelin star restaurant in 'Le Chalet Mounier' - and a good place for a few drinks is 'Le Pub Windsor' (the best bar in the resort!) with its famous restaurant next door where the food is wonderful! (Porte de la Cote) or 'Doume's' for excellent pizza cooked on wood - where you will also get a warm welcome - in fact it is hard to leave!

Booking notes
No smoking in the apartment, no pets. Holding deposit of £200 payable on booking and full balance payable 2 months before arrival. Security guarantee of 300 euros held by credit card by key holder upon arrival from which mandatory cleaning fee of 50 euros will be deducted.

Just had to drop you an email to say what a FABULOUS time we had in France. Truly wonderful and there just arent enough words to describe. We are already thinking about next year!!!!!. We got to do everything we wanted and the weather wasnt too bad - not that that would have made any difference. The apartment was great and suited us perfectly and the views - well what can I say - to sit on that balcony with the mountains all around us. That view will keep me going through the drab winter months
