Le Bourg is a large 5 bedroom (sleeps up to 10) country house (which can alternatively be let as a single level detached private apartment of 2 bedrooms + lounge sleeping couch, sleeping up to 6: with permanent pool and quality interior features, set in an acre of private garden. Please note the apartment is on one level of the house. Therefore the property will be let exclusively as house or apartment, not both at the same time. It sits on the edge of a quiet hamlet just 2 miles from Domfront. It is centrally placed for trips to the coast, Le Mont St. Michel, the Normandy beaches and the Suisse Normande. Local activities include climbing, mountain biking and kayaking (5km, rent by the hour or day). Within easy reach of pleasant walks and quality restaurants.

This large, extensive modern house, built in a traditional style, has many desirable features. The master bedroom has an adjoining bathroom with sunken bath and a balcony overlooking the garden. The house has quality features throughout, including tiled floors, hardwood doors and panelling. The living room/dining room is expansive (55 sq.m), with exposed oak beam ceiling and massive Norman style fireplace. Stepping through patio doors, from the dining area, is a large terrace with a permanent swimming pool. The kitchen is hand built oak with dishwasher and microwave. The property is set in an acre of secluded garden looking out onto pasture and a nearby hamlet. All furniture is new and comfortable and includes leather couches.

Le Bourg is set on the edge of a tiny hamlet, just 3km. from the historic town of Domfront (11C, fortified with narrow streets, timbered houses and many small shops and a range of restaurants). The spa town of Bagnoles, set in a large forest (with many walking trails) is 20 minutes away. The surrounding countryside is quiet, bucolic with small hedged pastures, grazed by cattle and dotted with traditional Norman farmsteads and cottages. Only an hour away are 3 major historical and tourist destinations: West lies the medieval and mystical Mont St. Michel; North lie the Normandy beaches and in the town of Bayeux, the Tapestry of that name, depicting the Norman invasion of William the Conquerer. Normandy is famous for its restaurants and creperies, cuisine, cheeses (Camambert, Pont Leveque) and Calvados (apple brandy).
