Very comfortable apartment in small luxurious residence. 42 sq.m size plus a 21sq.m. terrace to relax. Discover the nearby Islands of Re, Oleron and Aix. La Rochelle is only a short drive away and the lovely village of Aytre is close by too. A truly holiday atmosphere. Public transport can replace the car. Ideal rental if you want to be near La Rochelle but want to avoid the noise, the traffic (can be a difficult during busy periods) and the car park problems in the centre.

Changeover day
On the leaving day around 2pm to allow enough time for transfer (the cleaning needs to be done by the guests before leaving please as the price does not include cleaning- £40 charge for private cleaning if preferred). Changeover day is negotiable.

| Living Rooms: | Large living room with TV, DVD, video, comfortable double sofa bed. A sliding door opens up onto the spacious terrace. |

Accessibility
The residence has a lift which allows access to wheelchair users.
Outside
21 sq.m. terrace with garden furniture (tables, chairs, long chair). Very pleasant and large terrace looking onto well maintained green space. Secure residence with scan entry system.
Possibility to use the swimming pool of the second residence (Atlantica 2).
Coast/Beach
7 min walk from the main beach.
The beach was recently replenished and is quite long - the tide is high twice a day.
It is possible to travel further to the beautiful Chatelaillon plage (8 km but it is worth it). Easy access to nearby beaches by bike (cycling paths all along).
Golf
A small golf course was recently built near the lake to the right of the residence (going towards the beach), 100 metres away. It's a golf course designed for leisure and not professional golfers. Look out for the flags in the grass!
Special interest holidays
Cruises are organised daily from the main Harbour in La Rochelle, into the nearby islands of Re, Ils of Oleron and the famous Fort Boyard.
Travel
Easy access from La Rochelle airport a few kilometres away. Possibility to take 2 buses from the airport to the apartment if no car is available. La Rochelle is on the West Atlantic coast, 2 hours by TGV from Paris. The main train station is only 1km from the property with direct bus routes.
Distances
1.5km from La Rochelle centre (possibility to use public bus stopping nearby - 15 min journey on bus number 1-). The village of Aytre is 800 metres away. Supermarkets and restaurants are 0.5km away. On the main square, there is a bank, delicious bakery, chemist, newsagent. Ideal if you want peace and quiet, space but want to be able to go to the busy town of La Rochelle at any time.
Further details
Cycling paths all along the coast and starting from the nearby beach (very safe as there are well marked lanes). Seashell picking and possibility to buy seafood and oysters from nearby oyster wholeselling farm. From La Rochelle harbour, there are sea cruises to the nearby islands. Public buses (route 1) takes you to the centre in 15 minutes.
Some tennis courts situated near the lake means you could take lessons (to be booked with the teacher) or just play with your friends. They were recently opened.
You an also go shell picking during low tides.
Booking notes
Sat to Sat preferred (especially summer) but can be negotiated. Flexible payment but 50% of the payment preferred upon sending the key and maps of the area. Payment by cheque in sterling or direct transfer into English /French bank account. Available througout the year.
Please note, no last minute booking unless payment is made in full before sending the keys.
Guest comments
Guests generally say that the location is very peaceful and the apartment spacious. Positive feedback on the main road access into and out of La Rochelle.
