Ideally situated for quiet relaxing afternoons and evenings in the rear facing garden. Its a short 5 mins walk into the quiet cafes and restaurants of this lovely Dordogne village. There you will find a lovely village square with water fountains, pavement cafes and, on Friday mornings, the village is taken over by the bustling street market. The garden is spacious and secluded with a patio and gazebo and a grass lawn. Perfect for a nice relax during the long sunny days or the warm evenings. It looks rearwards onto agricultural land. The gite is a converted barn adjoining the main house, with a cathedral roof, oak beams and exposed stone walling. Stairs lead to a screened mezzanine floor (6ft high at centre but low at each side) with double bed. Access is through French windows which enter into kitchen/diner area.

The house is on 3 levels. Downstairs is the dining/kitchen area where there is a fully fitted kitchen. There is also a lounge area alongside. On the first floor the main lounge area is both spacious and comfortable with original wooden floorboards and period furniture to match. For your comfort British TV is provided alongside DVD player and a selection of DVDs for both family and children's viewing. Up top are 2 good sized bedrooms, both fitted with period furntiture, 1 has a double bed, the other has 2 single beds. There is a newly fitted shower room and toilet. A bed settee is also provided in the downstairs lounge for further guests.
All bed linen will be provided. Electrical goods include hairdryer, stereo player, UK satellite TV.

The Gite: This converted barn with cathedral roof, oak beams and exposed stone walling, has been upgraded to provide an ideal base for exploring the lovely Dordogne area. Entrance is into a lounge area with UK satellite TV fitted.
There are spiral stairs up to a mezzanine floor with double bed.
French windows lead from the front of the house into a wood-panelled living room with double bed settee and dining area.
The newly renovated open plan kitchen has a tabletop oven, full gas hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster.
The newly refurbished shower room has a wc, washbasin and washing machine.
At the side of the house is private off-road parking with steps up to the separate garden and personal south-facing patio with dining furniture, sun loungers, barbecue and parasol.
Bed linen and towels provided plus hairdryer.
The settee also converts to a bed for extra guests.
Travel cot available.

 

Notes on accommodation
Garden area is both secluded and secure so is perfect for smaller children.

Accessibility
Unfortunately, due to the staircases, this property is not accessible for wheelchairs, also the spiral staircase in the gite may be difficult for persons of limited movement.

Outside
The garden is completely tranquil and has mainly lawn. A patio is provided for your comfort, there is also a gazebo to keep you cool whilst dining outdoors. All garden furniture is provided.

Coast/Beach
For cooling off in summer there are many places to swim, canoe/kayak or take boat trips on the river. At nearby Lake Jemaye you can swim from a sandy beach, picnic, or watch the birds and wild tortoises at the special hides and viewpoints. Seaside is approximately 1.5 hours drive away.

Golf
There is a golf course just a few miles away (near Petit Bersac).

Travel
Bergerac Airport 56km.

Distances
Bergerac, with its airport and fascinating old town is less than an hour's drive. The elegant city of Bordeaux is around an hour on the A89. Not forgetting the beautiful village of St Emillion which is even closer.
Beautiful medieval town of Perigueux is half an hour away. Nearby Brantome (20 mins drive) is known as the "Venice of France"

Further details
Local shops, markets, banks, cafes and restaurants are all within a 5 minutes walk (yes a a real 5 minutes).

Booking notes
Deposits to be paid at time of booking, full price to be paid 6 weeks in advance. A security and breakage cheque of £100/150 euros will be held but not cashed and will be destroyed if no breakages or extra cleaning is required.
