Within easy reach of picturesque villages, famous chateaux, colourful street markets and some of the finest restaurants in the Perigord Noir, this delightful part of the Dordogne offers canoeing, river beaches, golf, horse riding and tennis, fishing and an outdoor adventure park and air ballooning within cycle distance. La Baronnie is equipped for use all year round and makes the perfect destination for shorter or winter breaks. The mild temperatures during autumn, winter and early spring allow exploration of many local walks through the stunning countryside. A great location for Christmas, Easter and Bank holiday breaks.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. Arrival after 16.00 and departure before 10.00.
| Bedrooms: | In the main house, 2 double and 2 single bed rooms, (3 ensuite). The gite has 1 double and 1 twin room. The apartment also has one double which also contains a couch, TV and 1 twin room with bunk beds. Cot available. |
| Bathrooms: | There are three en-suite showers/baths in each of the bedrooms in main house, one shared toilet on 1st floor and another en-suite toilet in bedroom 2. The apt and the gite contain a bathroom each. |
| Kitchen: | The house kitchen includes a combination 5 ring cooker, with two ovens and griddle. Dishwasher, microwave, large fridge/freezer. The gite has a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher etc. The apartment has a separate kitchen with full cooker, fridge etc. |
| Utility Room: | New washing machine, dryer, airer, ironing board and iron are available for the use of all occupants in the large garage which also contains two bikes. |
| Living Rooms: | The house living room is 'en pierre' with great views, newly furnished. The Satellite UK TV can be used with your sky card. The Gite living area is the open plan downstairs. The appt combines living /kit. The TV and sofa are in the double bedroom. |
| Other: | The tower is part of the house was a 'pigeonnaire'. It is now a particular favourite of children. It is furnished with 2 single beds on 2 levels. The large garage allows for storage of bikes and roof boxes etc. |

Notes on accommodation
The deep stone walls of the house retain the cool air indoors and work best if the shutters are closed together during sun hours. All beds and indoor and outdoor furnishings have been replaced this year. A wood burning fire in the living room can be used and central heating is available in colder months.
Accessibility
Not wheelchair accessible as yet. Young children should be supervised at all times. Because the house is located on a hillside there are balconies, steps and the garden is on different levels. The pool is protected by an alarm and locked gate to aid safety. access to the upstairs of the gite is by a steep stairs and therefore is not suitable for anyone with poor mobility.
Outside
The house has furnished patio and BBQ areas. From here you can enjoy the spectacular views over the Dordogne Valley and watch the local balloning enthuasists. The private pool measures 27 x 9 ft. and is exclusively for your use. The pool is fenced and an alarm is in place as required by safety guidelines. Part of the gardens are on a steep slope and so provide scope for adventure and deer spotting. There are also areas that are peaceful and shady. Feel free to enjoy the figs and walnuts, plums and fresh herbs from the garden according to season.
Golf
A small golf course, 9 holes is at La Forge, approx 5 miles. An 18 hole golf courses is located at L'Olivarie.

G.Durrell. There are many chateaux and vineyards in the area which open their doors for wine tastings. Medoc, Graves, St Emilion and Sauternes are all within easy driving distance and the Chateau Monbazillac is pure romance with superb views and fabulous restaurant. Canoeing, tennis at Siorac and Belves, horse riding, hot air ballooning, golf and fishing are all available locally. Visit Chateaus, Bastide Towns and many restaurants specialising in traditional cuisine. Bergerac was once a flourishing port for the wine trade. It still today has a picturesque harbour where you can take a boat trip along the river Dordogne, or a miniature train ride around the Bastide town, viewing the many half timbered houses with terracotta decoration.
Travel
Nearest airport: Bergerac (23 miles) direct from Stansted and many UK locations, Bergerac International Airport with flights from London Stanstead, Southampton, Bristol and Birmingham with Flybe or Ryan Air. Bordeaux (78 miles) served by Aer Lingus. From Channel ports, driving takes about 10 hours. If using A20 motorway, exit at Souillac and head for Sarlat. A car is essential for visiting the area. Hiring available at Bergerac airport.

Markets are held in all the surrounding villages: Sundays: Saint Cyprien, Tuesdays: Le Bugue, Fridays: Le Buisson, Saturdays and Wednesdays: Sarlat.
There are plenty of restaurants serving quality food and local wines in pleasant surroundings. St. Cyprien has all amenities, bank, post-office, shops, chemist, doctors. A couple of 'Brocante' or antique shops and art galleries and 2 supermarkets.
Throughout the Summer season music festivals and cultural events are held in the many villages and towns. A full programme is available in the tourist office in St Cyprien.
Booking notes
Rental prices for July and August include the apartment and gite as all units are let as one for these months. A deposit of one third is payable on booking. The balance is to be paid 8 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. There is a refundable breakages deposit of £400 payable with final payment. Cancellation refunds: up to 8 weeks before starting date: no charge. 4-8 weeks before starting date: 50% rate refunded. 2-4 weeks before starting date: 25% refunded. Less than 2 weeks: no refund.
