Maison de Pecheur is a traditional fisherman's cottage set in the quaint and narrow streets of the old part of Port en Bessin. The harbour and sea front are just 50m and the port is an active and fascinating place to watch the large fishing boats coming and going. The area is steeped in history, centrally located amongst the D-day beaches, with a range of holiday pursuits available and the cathedral city of Bayeux close by. There are a wide range of restaurants and cafes in the village, the fish market is open daily with freshly caught sea food of all types, and a selection of shops, supermarkets, a bank, post office and a fantastic Sunday harbourside market all within a short stroll. The Omaha Beach golf course, one of Normandy's finest, is on the edge of the village. There are cliff walks either side of the village, and the local beach has many rock pools to fascinate children. Miles of safe sandy beaches are a just a few minutes drive away in both directions.

Changeover day
Minimum booking 5 days (full weeks in peak periods), changeover days are flexible (please enquire), cottage is available after 3pm and guests are asked to vacate by 10am.

| Bedrooms: | Three cosy bedrooms, two with twin beds that can be pushed together to if you wish and a huge attic family bedroom with double bed, single bed and a cot. The lounge has a very simple to operate and extremely comfortable sofabed. All linen is provided. |

| Kitchen: | Well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, oven, hob, microwave, fridge and usual appliances pots and pans. |

Notes on accommodation
The property is all electric and there is heating in every room making it warm and cosy for all year round accommodation.
Outside
There is a secluded courtyard at the rear with garden furniture, large sun canopy and an electric BBQ. Ideal for dining al fresco on warm summers evenings, and somewhere safe for the children to amuse themselves.
Coast/Beach
There are simply miles of wide sandy beaches within a short drive both east and west of Port en Bessin. Most are very gently sloping making it safe for younger children. The town itself is set between cliffs offering lots of rockpools to explore at low water (a selection of wellies are provided).
Golf
The Omaha Beach Golf course encircles the town to the west, a 27 hole course which is considered one of the best in Northern France. Please ask owners about discounts available.

A £100 deposit will secure your holiday and the balance is due 4 weeks before the start date. A refundable security deposit of £100 is requested.

'The only feedback I can give you is to suggest you carry on as you are. We have been to many holiday cottages over the years and yours is one we would be very pleased to go back to. Some owners put a pint of milk in the fridge or flowers or a bowl of fruit but frankly they are just kind gestures. The main thing for us was that the cottage was clean, very interesting, the beds were comfortable and it was conveniently accessible on arrival. A bonus was that we could find an iron and hair dryer so we could have left one box at home! We also very much like the location in Port en Bessin.'
