La Maison Blanche has been restored to a high standard and retains lots of character including the traditional curved beams in the roof, and a wonderful open fireplace. The house has four bedrooms and two modern bathrooms and will comfortably accommodate two families. There are plenty of children's toys, games and books. The large garden has a terrace with wonderful views across the valley providing the perfect setting for outdoor meals. There are many interesting places to visit in the surrounding area, including the historic port of St Valery sur Somme, the cathedral at Amiens, the battlefields of WWI and the site of the Battle of Crecy. The seaside town of Le Crotoy is 40 minutes' drive away, and the sandy beaches of Fort Mahon and Le Touquet are within one hour.

Prices are per week, usually Saturday to Saturday.
Changeover day
Normally Saturday, but flexible especially outside peak holiday weeks. Please plan to arrive after 3pm and leave by 11am for weekly lets. Long weekends by arrangement, with flexible arrival and departure times.

Accessibility
With two bedrooms and a shower room on the ground floor, the house is suitable for people with mobility problems. The shower room includes grab-handles in the shower and next to the toilet. There is a small step into the house but we have portable ramps that enable users of wheelchairs to get into the house and garden.

Large garden with fruit trees, raspberry canes and blackcurrant bushes. Terrace with outdoor furniture and BBQ. Garden toys and small paddling pool.
Coast/Beach
40 minutes' drive from port towns of St Valery and Le Crotoy. Sandy beach at Le Crotoy, Fort Mahon (45 minutes) Le Touquet (60 minutes). Rouen (60 minutes).
Golf
Golf courses at Le Touquet (one hour) and Nampont St Martin (45 minutes).
Travel
Easy one-hour drive from Boulogne, one hour 30 minutes from Calais, via A16 motorway. The village is 10 minutes' drive from J22 of the motorway (Abbeville Est).
Distances
Abbeville 15 minutes, Amiens 30 minutes, St Riquier 20 minutes. Battlefields of the Somme and war memorials 30 minutes.
Further details
There is a bar in Fontaine, and a bread van stops outside the house every morning apart from Wednesdays. Other mobile shops sell fresh fish, fruit and veg during the week. The nearest mini-market is in Pont-Remy, three miles away. The nearest supermarket (Champion) is in Airaines, five miles, and hypermarket (Geant) in Abbeville. Markets in Abbeville on Thursdays (Wednesdays in the last week of the month) and St Valery on Sundays.

20% deposit at time of booking; the balance is due eight weeks before the holiday begins.
