Comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in a family home. The property is situated in its own grounds close to a 9 hole golf course and lake offering a wide selection of water sports. There is also a four wheel drive circuit close by. The village has a bar, church and boulangerie and the market town of Sourdeval is 5 kilometres away and the larger town of Vire is only 12 kilometres away. We are only an hour's drive to the Normandy beaches, Mount St. Michael and The Bayeaux Tapestry Exhibition. The port of Calais is approximately 4 hours drive away and Le Havre 2 hours away. There are nearby railway links and the airport at Dinard is only 1 hour away. A quiet peaceful setting, surrounded by rolling hills and countryside.

Changeover day
Guests are normally requested not to arrive earlier than 2pm on the arrival day and on departure day to vacate the room by 11am although we aim to be as flexible as possible by prior arrangement.
Notes on accommodation
All rooms are centrally heated, have hairdryers and all towels and bed linen are provided. There is a large garden. You are welcome to use our pool table and football table and wide range of board games and puzzles.
Accessibility
As this property has stairs to the bedrooms regrettably it may not be suitable for disabled people.
Outside
We have a large garden and outdoor garden furniture is provided.
Coast/Beach
Daytrips within easy reach include the medieval town of Domfront and the gothic spires of Le Mont St Michel. The historic D-Day landing beaches are within easy reach as is the spa town of Bagnoles De Lo'orne and the famous Bayeux tapestry.
Golf
A short drive away is Lac de la Dathee. Overlooking the lake is the 18 hole golf course of the Golf de Vire complete with driving and practise range.
Travel
The house can be reached within 2 hours from the Channel port of Le Havre and if driving from Calais within 4 hours through lovely local countryside.
Distances
We are within 5 minutes walk to the nearest village of Gathemo. The town of Soudeval is 5 mins drive away and the larger town of Vire is 12 kms away.

If you are looking for a base to explore the fabulous Normandy countryside and mysterious village which it conceals, or you just need some time to re-charge your batteries, La Chardiere will provide the perfect family surroundings. The town of Vire is just 12 kilometres away and has a variety of shops, restaurants, cafe and bars, banks and supermarkets.
A short drive away is Lac de la Dathee, with beautiful views over Vire and has something for everyone. A sailing school, windsurfing and fishing. Walks around the lake are perfect for picnics and summer relaxation.
Booking notes
Our rates are 25 euros per adult per night and 18euros per child including continental breakfast. A full English breakfast is also offered at an additional cost of 8 euros per person.
