Le Périé is a very large and beautiful 1850’s stone built farmhouse, in the heart of the Midi-Pyrénées region of South West France. With direct access to both Toulouse and Carcassonne airports le Périé is an easy and attractive holiday destination. Set in 30 acres of private woodland and river it offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to 4 guests. Here in these vast surroundings you can enjoy all manner of country pursuits such as horse riding, walking, fishing, cycling, or sailing. Closest towns are Pamiers and the charming medieval Mirepoix, noted for its busy Monday morning market. Sightseeing further afield: Toulouse, France's 4th city, the Mediterranean at Narbonne, the tax-free state of Andorra or lively Barcelona. Whatever you want, it’s here.

Changeover day
Start/departure day in July/August: Saturday. Other months: Open. Arrival after 4pm until 8pm. Later arrivals by arrangement only. Departure by 10am.

Bedrooms: One double en-suite bedroom. One twin en-suite bedroom (adult size beds).
The bedrooms have ceiling fans and toiletries and toilet rolls are provided.
Bathrooms: En-suite bathrooms comprise of a shower cubicle, washbasin with mirror and wc.
Kitchen: A farmhouse style kitchen with conventional cooker: gas rings and electric oven. Extractor fan with light. Twin sinks and draining board. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Microwave. Kettle. Coffee percolator. Pine table and chairs. Cleaning materials provided.
Utility Room: Washing machine. Laundry basket. Clothes airer. Ironing board and iron. Storage rack for provisions. Wine rack. Hoover. Broom. Dustpan and brush. Recycling containers.
Living Rooms: Open plan period lounge/dining room leading out to the back garden. 2 comfortable sofas. TV. DVD player with extensive DVD library (free of charge). Music system. Small choice of board games and books. Oak dining table and chairs.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
We provide bath towels, hand towels, pool towels and tea towels. All bed linen is provided and is changed weekly (Saturdays).

 

Notes on accommodation
With big open spaces and nature abound this is a great, safe destination for kids. The property is totally secure as is the pool, giving parents peace of mind at all times. Our woodland leads down to the river and is a haven for all manner of wildlife, birds and flora. During a 1 week stay some guests claimed to have 'spotted' 100 different species of bird just in the garden!

Accessibility
The property is set on 2 levels, the 1st floor accessible via an open-plan staircase. All bedrooms are upstairs.

Outside
There is an 8x4m pool (shared with proprietors) with large landscaped terrace and poolhouse. Sunloungers with cushions are provided. The poolhouse has a fridge and is large enough to accommodate in-door 'barbies' if it rains! It also houses a football table for added entertainment. Stone built barbecue. Very large table and chairs and sun canopy for alfresco dining. A very convivial area with views out to open fields and the Pyrenees beyond. The village has tennis courts which are avaible to guests free of charge.

Coast/Beach
The Mediterranean at Narbonne is 1.5 hours by car.
Lac Montbel (a man-made lake) is 20 mins by car and can be used for swimming, surfing or sailing.

Skiing
During the winter season (November - March) visitors can enjoy skiing at Ax Bonsacre, les 3 domaines. The resort caters for all levels from novice to experienced and has superb facilities (restaurants, bars, shops, equipment rental and children's ski classes). The resort is 45 mins by car from the property.

Travel
To get to the property you will need a car. Toulouse airport is 1 hour by car. Carcassonne airport is 45 mins by car. Car hire available at both airports. Pre-booking is essential. For day trips the closest train station is Pamiers (10 mins by car). Parking at the station if free.

St. Girons (Bishops Residence) 1 hour.
Barcelona 3 hours.
Andorra 1.5 hours.

Booking notes
To make a reservation £150 is required for each week of your holiday.
N.B this deposit is non-refundable.
Upon receipt written confirmation is sent with invoice. The balance along with refundable security deposit (£200) is payable no later than 8 weeks before start date.
