Coast/Beach
Approxi midway between Mediterranean and Atlantic, each of which is 2-3 hours drive.
Skiing
The friendly ski resort of Guzet is 35 mins drive, or served by a ski bus from the village square. It has a variety of runs and a ski school, walking trails and restaurants.
Travel
Toulouse is 1 hour 20 mins away, Carcassonne and Pau 2 hours. Car hire is recommended.
Distances
The cottage is 1 mile from Seix village centre, and about 10 miles from the market town of St Girons. The Spanish border is 2 hours drive and Andorra about 3 hours. Prehistoric caves, an underground river and an adventure playground are all a short drive away.
Further details
The lively village of Seix boasts a full complement of shops including bakers, butchers, bookshop (with English books upstairs), restaurants, an auberge and a small chateau/museum. Two shops sell clothing and equipment for walking/skiing. There is a helpful tourist office in the square, which hosts a fortnightly market and frequent entertainments throughout the summer. Kayak hire and lessons are available on the river Salat which runs through the village. The nearby town of St Girons holds a typically French large Saturday market packed with local produce and hand made goods.
