From the 11th century castle at Mauvezin to the Abbaye de L’Escaladieu, from the deep caves of Betharram to the peeks of the Pic du Midi, Col d’Aspin and many more from the many historic bastides and towns of the region to the breathtaking beauty of the Cirque de Gavarnie. Be it fine food and wine, or just a cup of coffee and people watching this area has it all. You too will be captivated by the sheer magic and hospitality that keeps people coming to the area again and again. Changeover day
Normal change over days are Saturdays but we will do our best to accommodate our guests individual requirements. Guests are requested to vacate the Gite by 10.30am. Guests can enter the property after a thorough cleaning.

| Other: | The covered terrace offers a relaxing area which is equipped with a BBQ, wooden table and benches. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Linen is included, 1 set per bed per week. Bath and handtowels are included. The gite will be clean on arrival and we would expect it to be left the same. Basic cleaning equipment will be supplied. |

The Mediterranean coast (Narbonne) is approximately 3 hours east and the Atlantic coast (Biarritz) is approximately 2 hours west.

Travel
Pau is the nearest airport at approximately 45 mins away.
Toulouse is just 1.5 hours drive. The drive from Caen ferry port takes approx 10 hours. Calais approx 11 hours, St Malo approx 9 hours and Santander approx 4 hours.

For those who enjoy a farmers market there is one for most days of the week including Tarbes, Lannemezan, Marciac, Trie-sur-Baïse and Vic-Fezensac. For music lovers there is the international jazz festival at Marciac reportedly the most important outside of America. For Country and Western fans nearby Mirande offers a yearly festival attended by many stars of country music. If you enjoy eating out there is a range of styles from joining a local family at a “Ferme Auberge” for a simple country meal, to the finest Haute cuisine. We are less than an hour to the mountain ski stations of the Pyrenees National Parks where skiing, walking, white water rafting, bird watching, horse riding, cycling and climbing are all popular activities. For those of you who enjoy being pampered the mountain spas of Lourdes, Capvern, Bagneres and Luchon are also less than an hour’s drive. If history is your thing we have enough castles, churches and medieval towns for everyone. For an enjoyable day out Carcassonne with its truly stunning old city or Biarritz with its beaches and fine restaurants are places not to be missed. So come and visit, we are sure you will enjoy.
Booking notes
Provisional bookings can be made upon receipt of a completed booking form. These will be confirmed upon receipt of a refundable deposit of £100/150 € to cover reservation and breakages. Payment for accommodation will be required by cheque 6 weeks prior to arrival. The deposit less any charge for breakages will be returned at the end of the holiday.
