O'Connell Cottage provide two comfortable cottages in a beautiful setting, ideal for watching nature go by whilst sipping a glass of wine in the warmth, and on a clear at night millions of stars can be seen and the stillness can be heard. For those of you with children there are plenty activities available to entertain them and a babysitter can be provided for the evenings producing a ideal family break.

| Upstairs: Bedroom 1 with double bed and single bed (+ cot optional). Bedroom 2 with twin beds. Both have hanging space provided. Bathroom with bath, handbasin and wc. Downstairs is a shower-room with wc and washing machine. A fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, electric "instant touch" hob, fridge with freezer compartment and micro-wave. Incorporating a spacious dinning area. A highchair /booster available on request. A large airy lounge with 2 setter settee, 1 persons sofa bed, armchair, TV (french), DVD player, radio/CD player, books, toys, games, fireplace with woodburner. A cupboard housing the cleaning equipment, ironing board, iron, clothes airer and vacum cleaner is situated in the downstairs shower-room. The property has electric heating throughout, and a large wood burner with a free supply of wood for the winter. An outside sitting area in a courtyard. | |
Notes on accommodation
Bed linen, bath towels and tea towels are provided.
The properties are cleaned at the start of the stay, and in the case of a two week stay the bed linen and towels will be changed after the first 7 days.
A selection of baby equipment and a babysitting service are available on request.
Dogs are welcome.
It is suitable for children and there is a NO SMOKING policy in the accommodation.
Outside
Barbecue, table, chairs and umbrella are provided in your own sitting area. There is a childrens play area with swings, climbing frame, sand pit and toys, and a sea-saw. A lawned area with a 4m trampoline with safety net for 3 year upwards and a baby trampoline for 1-3 years.
A large off-road parking area.
Coast/Beach
The Coté de Granite Rose is found on the north coast, which is well known for its breathtaking Pink cliffs. Ideal for rock pooling and walks.
Around Concorneau, in the south, there are many long sandy beaches. Ideal for water sports, horse riding or just relaxing.
The West coast has the spectacular Crozon Peninsula with its varied coastline, and Pentrez beach with miles and miles of beautiful golden sand. Famous for its sand yachting.
All are within an hours drive.

A 9 hole golf course is available in Carhaix, 11kms.

80 Kms from Roscoff Ferry Port (Brittany Ferries)
and 2 hours drive from St. Malo Ferry Port.

The Market town Carhaix is 11 Kms and Huelgoat is 10 kms.
Further details
The market town of Carhaix has supermarkets, shops banks, cinema, bus and train station. It has facilities for karting, ten pin bowling, fishing, swimming (pool has a fume), and tree-top assault course and horse-riding. The lake-side market town of Huelgoat has quaint shops, restaurants and supermarkets. The old forest that surrounds it, is ideal for walking, bird watching and mountain biking. The Mont d'arrée is know for its diverse moorland landscape and is ideal for parachuting, walking, mountain biking, horse-riding and bird watching. Lac Drennec is on the western side and provides facilities for tennis, and water sports. It has a restaurant and sandy beaches with a playing area for the children. The Market town of Chateauneuf-du-faou is on the bank of the Nante-Brest canal. It has canoes, boats, and mountain bikes available to hire.

A deposit is payable on booking and the remainder of the payment is due on 8 weeks before arrival at the cottage. Please contact Mrs A O'Connell for a booking. Payment by cheque in sterling or euros made payable to Mrs A O'Connell.
