Owner profile
Paul, James and Kate on holiday in the mountains
About the owner
After running an outside catering company for many years, in 2006 we decided to take the plunge to run a chalet in the Alps. Megeve seemed the natural choice as we got maried here ten years earlier. We love all aspects of the mountains and enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, walking and mountain biking and the spectacular views from our balcony and just about everywhere else.
Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
We chose the less well known resort of Megeve because it is an idyllic town with a large skiing area and miles and miles of walking and cycling tracks. With easy access to Geneva, just over an hour away, and cheap flights, it is a great place to live and easy for people to visit for short as well as long breaks.
Megeve is busy all year round and does not become like a ghost town in the summer. Every season has its own special flavour with local celebrations, activities and events.
There is a buzzing nightlife with clubs, bars and restuarants to suit all tastes as well as a casino and jazz Club.
Unique benefits of the property
The chalet is ideally located in a quiet side street just five minutes walk from the centre of Megeve. The ski bus stops 100m from the chalet so there is very easy access to the ski slopes.
During the winter we offer our chalet as self-catered, bed and breakfast, half-board or any combination in between. This allows our guests to do as much or as little as they want. We are unique in offering this flexible service.
