Owner profile

About the owner
My name is Andy a self employed joiner for 25yrs married to Sam for 20yrs with a son Jake (18) and daughter Ella (14). We also have a four legged member of the family, Jessie, she has her own passport and love's the freedom of being outside for as long as she wants.

Year purchased: 2000

Why the owner chose a home in this location
France is well and truly under our skin now and intend to make it our home when the children are capable of looking after themselves (if that ever happens!) after holidaying all over from the Charente, alps, Languedoc, Cote D'Azur and of course normandy we took the plunge and purchased the quintessential french farmhouse, initially unhabitable it became a busmans holiday for me and spent some great times there whilst renovating with both English tradesmen and French.

Unique benefits of the property
Living on the outskirts of Manchester and working/commuting in the surrounding areas being at beaucostil really allows you to step of the treadmill and enjoy the way of life the uk probably enjoyed 30/40 yrs ago. When not at the house we love the nearby towns and villages whilst also visiting the coast. In the summer the swifts that live in the barn are fantastic to watch and there is also a family of buzzards in the woods that usually appear in the early afternoon, we have also had deer in the fields opposite in the very early mornings. Its just the complete opposite for us of UK life and ultimately why we keep on returning.
