Modern villa with light, airy spacious kitchen/sitting room leading to bathroom with full size bath/shower and good size double bedroom. Wooden stairs lead to a large 2nd bedroom sleeping up to 3 people. Outside is a terrace for outdoor eating/drinking. There is plenty of local wine to sample! It is situated in a peaceful setting close to the swimming pool and tennis courts which are private to the domaine. Sorède is an authentic village where you can step back in time. It has plenty of good restaurants and shops, friendly tourist office and children’s playground. La Vigne is only 10 mins drive to lovely sandy beaches and the stunning village of Collioure. This is a beautiful area to explore on foot or bicycle, strolling through vineyards or exploring local mountains and rockpools. For a family day out Aqualand is popular or visit the local turtle park. Spain is nearby, as are many pretty villages and towns. With an average of 300 days of sun a year you are sure to feel relaxed.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Friday with arrival after 4 pm, this is flexible outside of July/August. Departure must be by 10am unless otherwise arranged.

Outside
There is a good size terrace for outdoor eating or relaxing with a glass of local wine. It is gated so safe for young children. Swimming pool and tennis courts are nearby for use by the domaine only. The whole area is quiet and relaxing. The domaine is well kept with pretty paths. Parking is private and close by.
There is an outside table, chairs, parasol and sun loungers. A barbecue is provided.
Coast/Beach
10 minutes drive to the beach. The blue flag beaches are sandy and are cleaned daily. It is perfect to swim, relax or have lunch here in a choice of good restaurants. There are also plenty of activities for children.
Spain's Costa Brava is also reachable and there are many unspoilt coves and beaches to be explored here.
Golf
There are golf courses within 15 minutes drive.
Skiing
The mountains for skiing or walking in summer are about one and a half hour away by car.
Special interest holidays
We offer stop smoking courses by James Postlethwaite renouned author of 'Healing the Heart of Addiction' who has much experience working in the field. He previously worked in several clinics in London.
Massage by qualified Osteopath (50 euros) and private yoga classes available 38 euros and 5 euros for any additional people.
Travel
Perpignan airport is served by Ryanair and BMI Baby, 35 minutes drive. Girona, Spain served by many flights from the UK and Ireland (including Ryanair) is 1 hour's drive. Carcassonne & Beziers airport 1hr 30min drive served by Ryanair; Barcelona's international airport is 2 hours drive away. A car is recommended.
Distances
Stunning Collioure is 15 minutes drive.
Argeles is 5 minutes drive which also has a train station.
Ceret with it's museum of modern art and a thriving market is 20 minutes drive.
Mountains surround the area. You can walk straight to Notre Dame De Chateau with beautiful views out to sea.
Within 10 minutes drive there are more mountain walks, rock pools large enough for swimming and Roman ruins. There is also a wonderful creperie up here set in idyllic gardens with a very friendly owner.
Further details
Sorède has a selection of small shops and 2 boulangers. There is a cashpoint machine and post office in the village. You will also find several good restaurants and cafes.
La Musée de l'Olivette and the turtle park are well worth a visit. Sorede is famous for the making of horse whips from the wood of the local tree, Microcoulier. You can visit the workshop to see the craftsmen at work.
There are plenty of wineries and caves to explore, offering free tastings.
You can even get an English Sunday newspaper on Sunday, something my guests have pointed out to me as extraordinary!
Sorede with it's warm micro climate is a really good place to be in the Autumn/winter/Spring as it is far more sheltered than the coast. It is also much warmer than inland mountainous areas. Being fully open all year round, is also a big plus. This is partly why we have chosen to live in Sorede ourselves.
Booking notes
Payment is in pounds or Euros directly to our English or French account.This is normally free from a French or UK account. A 30% booking deposit is required. If booking within 8 weeks of the stay the payment is in full. Linen is optional at £5/7.50 euros per week. A £200 / 200 euros deposit is required and will be returned if all is in order when you leave.
Payment is also possible via PayPal by credit or debit card. A 3.5 % commission is added. This is the method of choice from outside Europe.
