Location..location..location.. on an historic cobbled street in picturesque Dinan, the restored stone 'Villa des Remparts' has spectacular views of the town's famous medieval ramparts. The Grand Salon is a spacious livingroom featuring granite walls, tall windows, high ceilings, terracotta tile floors and large stone wood-burning fireplace. The eat-in Breton-style kitchen with local granite worktop is fully equipped. A grand staircase leads to 2 luxurious airy double bedrooms (one 4-poster) with views directly over the ramparts, oak floors, and 1 twin bedroom with stone/oak wall overlooking the cobbled street. A magnificent tiled bathroom/WC with large shower and double sink, and a separate WC downstairs in the entry hall. All rooms feature tall windows and ceiling fans for your comfort in warm summer weather and central heating in winter. Parking is a real nuisance in Dinan, but you have a designated space on site next to the traditional 'Boule' court and barbecue terrace.

Notes on accommodation
Although the villa walls are thick stone making the rooms naturally cool, ceiling fans have been provided in every room to make even the warmest summer day comfortable, especially for sleeping at night. Parking in Dinan's 'District Historique' is sometimes difficult to find due to the large number of visitors; however you have an easily accessible parking space on site at the rear of the villa.
Outside
Traditional 'Boule' court and barbecue terrace overlooking the medieval ramparts.
Coast/Beach
The coast can be reached by car in 35 minutes, where there are quaint fishing villages, romantic islands, castles and monasteries, sandy beaches and coves. All an easy day trip from Dinan.
Golf
Several excellent golf courses are within an easy drive at St. Cast le Guildo, Dinard and St. Malo.
Travel
The nearest airport is at Dinard about 25 minutes from Dinan by car or taxi. The drive times to ferry ports are: 30 minutes to St. Malo; Cherbourg 2 hrs.; Le Havre 2.5 hrs.; Dieppe 3.5 hrs.; Boulogne 4.5 hrs.; Calais 5 hrs. There are fast trains (2 hrs) from Paris to Rennes only 35 minutes away from Dinan by car or taxi.
Distances
The front of the villa is on Rue Michel and the rear on Rue du Petit Fort, two of the most popular streets in Dinan. Rue Michel offers an easy walk past the ramparts into the town centre only yards away; however Rue du Petit Fort connects the hill town of Dinan with the old Port of Dinan below and is a steep 5 minute walk over irregular cobbles.
Further details
Dinan attracts over a half million visitors the year round and is one of the most popular 'must see' historic towns in northern France. In addition to its famous medieval walls and ramparts, it features ancient half-timbered buildings, artisan shops, monasteries, museums, a castle, an open market, abundant restaurants and cafes, and an excellent Tourist Information Centre for Brittany. Just below on the river is the charming old Port of Dinan with more seafood restaurants, shops and river cruises.
