The villa is one of a small group of cut stone houses built in the traditional style around a lovely courtyard overlooking the pretty village of Durban and its medieval castle. Enjoying a peaceful private garden, this lovely house sleeps 6 adults. Villa La Cascade is the perfect location for an idyllic holiday in this still undiscovered yet easily accessible part of Mediterranean France. Beautifully appointed to the highest standards and fully equipped with a every modern convenience, this is a perfect home from home in which to enjoy the unique pace and ambience of Languedoc. A short drive from airports at Carcassonne, Perpignan and Toulouse, the surrounding area has a wealth of attractions. Located in the heart of the Corbieres, Villa La Cascade overlooks a range of beautiful hills that stretch north of the Spanish border. Vineyards, ancient monasteries and medieval castles punctuate the landscape whilst the golden beaches of the Mediterranean are just a short drive away.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. Arrival time is 4pm (you will personally welcomed by our property manager upon arrival at Villa La Cascade) and check out time is 10am on the day of departure.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Villa La Cascade has three beautifully furnished en suite double bedrooms - each with magnificent views. Two are on the ground floor for easy access, whilst upstairs there is a third en suite bedroom overlooking the lovely garden. |
| Bathrooms: | Two of the bathrooms have separate showers whilst one of the ground floor en-suites has a bath/shower combined. All are tiled with pretty tiles from Bisbal in neighbouring Catalunya. There is also a separate independent guest WC on the ground floor. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is fully equipped with all every modern convenience including dishwasher and microwave and a range of equipment for even the keenest cook. |
| Utility Room: | The utility room includes washer dryer, iron and ironing board and additional storage space. |
| Living Rooms: | The beautifully furnished sitting room (complete with satellite TV, DVD home cinema system and a library of books and films) opens out onto a magnificent teak deck surrounding the swimming pool. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Fresh linen and towels are provided (including beach towels)and are changed weekly. |

Accessibility
As 2 bedrooms are on the ground floor, Villa La Cascade is suitable for those with mobility problems. There are no steps between these rooms and the sitting room or kitchen or to the deck and terrace outside. For further information please do discuss with us before making a final booking.
Outside
Underneath a shaded terrace roof and beside the pool is an outdoor kitchen complete with built in barbeque – just perfect for lazy wining and dining in the gorgeous surroundings. At the far side of the pool area is a table and chairs with wonderful views over the valley and vineyards below. Outside, the barbeque makes the most of the great views towards the hills with seating for 8. There's comfortable garden furniture, fruit trees and a number of secluded seating areas with secret views of the magnificent castle - all combining to ensure that should you decide not to leave the garden for the duration of your stay you will not be disappointed!
Coast/Beach
The blue flag beach at Le Franqui is a 30 min drive and is a typically small French resort.
Travel
Carcassonne (1 hr), Perpignan (1 hr) Girona (90 mins) and Toulouse (2 hrs) are all easily accessible and are served by a range of airlines from Britain and Ireland including Ryanair, BA, Easyget and Aer Lingus.
Distances
Durban Corbieres is a 5 min walk (for your croissants!) and comes complete with supermarket, pharmacy, patisserie, bar, newsagent and petrol station. For the bigger shop Narbonne (30 mins by car) has everything - including one of the best food markets in France.

This is Cathar country – one of the most inspiring and dramatic landscapes in Europe. Located in the heart of the Corbieres, Villa La Cascade is perfect for either an activity packed holiday or a relaxing getaway. Within a short distance there are the ancient monasteries at Lagrasse and Fontfroide, medieval castles at Queribus and Peyreprtuse, the historic walled city of Carcassonne and the beautiful Canal du Midi meandering through the countryside north of the hills.
Nearby, the thriving market town of Narbonne provides a wide range of shops, whilst the city of Perpignan offers a vibrant mix of influences – more Catalan than French. Swimming and wind-surfing are available in the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean at Cap Leucate,just 30 minutes away. The snowy peaks of the Pyrenees rise dramatically the south and a range of winter sports are available in ski resorts only a 2 hour drive away. Golf, tennis, horse-riding and sailing are within easy reach and the hills provide walks for every level, all with magnificent views to the Pyrenees.
The African Reserve at Sigean is one of the most highly rated wildlife parks in Europe and is a just 25 mins drive from Villa La Cascade. The reserve provides an outstanding range of wildlife from lions, elephant, rhino and cheetahs and many more animals - all to be seen in a convincingly natural environment (from the safety of your car!)
For lovers of food and wine, there's a wide choice. From local restaurants providing great food at reasonable prices to Michelin starred restaurants only a few minutes from the village. The rising star of Languedoc wine is the highlight for many visitors, numerous Chateaux providing ample opportunities for sampling and purchase at value for money prices that barely do justice to the exceptional quality. Combine the gorgeous climate, the lovely house and the un-uniquely relaxed pace of life to be found in the South of France and you have all the ingredients for the perfect holiday.
Booking notes
A deposit of 30% of the rental rate is required to book Villa La Cascade. The balance is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. Upon arrival you will also be asked to provide a 500 euros refundable damage deposit. This will be returned within 14 days of your departure.
