Changeover day
The rental period is from from 4pm Saturday to 10am Saturday, although there can be some flexibility so please contact the owner.

Bathrooms: Roomy en suite shower room with wc, bidet and heated towel rail.
Kitchen: The kitchen/diner is fully-fitted with dishwasher, microwave, cooker with gas hob and electric oven, fridge/freezer and a full range of china, cutlery and kitchenware with door onto patio and open plan to the living room.
Utility Room: Utility room housing the washing machine and vacuum cleaner etc.
Living Rooms: The living room has French doors onto the patio and is comfortably furnished. It has satellite TV (UK channels), video, CD player, wood-burning stove and electric radiator. A supply of books, games and videos is also provided.

linen/maid service:
All prices are per week and include gas, electricity, wood, linen - with the exception of towels for pool use. Short breaks may be possible - please contact the owner.
A welcome pack is also included in the price.

Unfortunately we are unable to accept children or pets. Smoking is not allowed in the gite.

Outside
Outside there is a covered barbecue area, and garden furniture and sun loungers on the private patio. This overlooks the 10m x 5m swimming pool and a large attractive garden. The (unheated) pool is open from June - September and is shared with the owners with guests having priority.

Coast/Beach
There are beaches and associated water sports at the beautiful lakes of St Mathieu and St Estephe both within a 15 mins drive of the cottage.

Golf
There are golf courses at Ecuras (20 mins drive), Limoges (45 mins drive) and also at St Junnien (30 mins drive).

Travel
Limoges airport is approximately 50 minutes drive while Poitiers airport is a little further away. The use of car is essential to make the most of this picturesque area.

Distances
Richard the Lionheart was one the area’s famous ‘visitors’; the castle where he met his demise is close by at Chalus. Other chateaux and beautiful towns and villages are within easy reach. Brantome - known as the Venice of the Dordogne – with its river trips, and ample supply of restaurants and shops is not to be missed. The prehistoric caves at Villars and the Roman Baths at Chassenon are also worth a visit while an hour’s drive will find you in either Limoges, Angouleme or Perigueux.

Further details
The nearest village is at 1.5 kms and has a tabac (which also sells bread and other essentials), a post office and a bar/restaurant. The local towns of Piegut (5 kms), St Mathieu (12 kms) and Nontron (17 kms) have weekly markets selling fresh local produce, modern supermarkets, petrol stations, banks, hairdressers and other shops. There are numerous restaurants offering a variety of dishes and local specialities at a range of prices.
Sporting activities in the area include canoeing, boating, fishing (in season), walking, golf, tennis, horse riding, mountain bike trails and water sports. However for those just wanting to escape and unwind, La Ferme du Noyer is a lovely place to relax.
