The apartment is below the owners main chalet, it has its own front door, Access to the property is via a private drive (which is cleared of snow in the Winter months) just off a very quiet road only used by local residents with use of a covered carport.

Skiing
The apartment is 10 Minutes drive from the largest international linked Skiing area in the World! (Portes du Soleil) which includes Les Gets, Morzine, Chatel, Avoriaz, Morgins, Les crosets (The swiss wall) Champery, Champoussin and Torgon.
St. Jean d'Aulps (810m) is a small mountain village surrounded by beautiful scenery. It has its own ski station known as 'La Grande Terche' which is only 5 minutes from the chalet. The Ecole Ski Français provides child care facilities for 3-6 year olds and there is a crèche for children from 2 months to 6 years at the top of the gondola. A shuttle bus service connects St. Jean d'Aulps centre and La Grande Terche. The local ski area is linked to Bellevaux which covers 21 miles, with 16 pistes ranging from 900m - 1800m, it is ideal for beginners, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

Distances
Only 10 minutes drive away is the lively town of Morzine and just over one hour drive to the Swiss City of Geneva and it's International Airport. Thonon-les-bains, Evain, Annecy, Lausanne and Montreux in Switerland are not far away. Chamonix (Mont Blanc) and Italy are just over 1 hour away.
Further details
The village centre of St. Jean d'Aulps is only 5 minutes walk from the apartment and has 2 boulangeries/patisseries, mini supermarket (open from 8am until 8pm), 2 boucherie/chacuteries, post office and a bank. There are 2 restaurants in the village and more at La Grande Terche for tasty traditional Haute Savoie cuisine. The large 'Champion' supermarket and petrol station is only 3 minutes drive towards Morzine.
Spring/Summer: St. Jean d'Aulps is a mountain village open all year round and has a great deal to offer. There are a wide range of walks on sign-posted footpaths, you can go to the mountain tops via the gondola which is open in July and August or into the Aulps Valley to discover the different villages, lakes, picturesque spots and rich Alpine fauna and flora. You can swim in Montriond's lake, which is open from 10am to 6pm every day in July and August. Also the nearby town of Morzine has an Olympic size outdoor swimming pool, Adventure park and tennis courts. If you are brave enough paragliding flights with an instructor are available. There are many fishing places and mountain biking circuits all around St Jean d'Aulps and other neighbouring villages. A visit to the Aulps Abbey is very interesting, if you want to see the remains that still stand today and discover its history.
