The gite is within a large private property in the old traditional village of Castelreng. This area of the Aude lends itself to a myriad of activities. Rock-climbing, bird-watching, canoeing, hillwalking are all avidly pursued. Mountain and road biking are considered world class. Daily local markets also abound as do abbeys and castles. Our nearest town, Limoux, is famous for its winter carnival and wine production (notably Banquette). Also within easy reach is the medieval city of Carcassone with its year round cultural events. An hour away by car and you can be skiing in the Pyrenees or enjoying the beaches of the Mediterranean. This truly is a fabulous place for a vacation.

Changeover day
Saturday is changeover day. Guests should plan on leaving around 10am with new guests arriving after 3pm.

Outside
Private patio for guests with garden furniture and a barbecue. The outdoor swimming pool is available and shared with the owners. The pool has a solar blanket which effectively heats the pool but is not necessary in the height of summer.

The Mediterranean coast is 1 hour away by car.
Golf
Golf can be found near Carcassone 35 minutes away.
Skiing
Superb skiing is available in the Pyrenees 1-1.5 hours away.
Travel
Our nearest airports are Carcassone Toulouse and Perpignan.
Distances
Limoux, the local market town, is 7km away.
Carcassone is 30 km away. The magnificent Cathar castles and abbeys are as close as 20 mins drive.

Booking notes
20% non-reundable deposit at time of booking. Balance of payment is due 6 weeks before arrival. A refundable security deposit of £100 must be sent along with the above. This will be returned, less an amount for any breakages.
