Les Boiges was built in 1850. It was originally the farmhouse to the neighbouring farm and is set in 10 acres of land. Les Boiges is surrounded by maize and sunflower fields a very comfortable traditional farmhouse. Sit on the patio or in the summer room with a glass of local wine and watch the sun go down over the lake and fields beyond.

Changeover day
Changeover is normally on a Sunday, arrival at the property 4pm and departure 10am but owners are flexible on this, please contact us with your required changeover and we will do our utmost to fulfill this.

Towels, linen and pool towels included. All linen is clean on arrival. Further linen/towels can be obtained from our keepers if required at a small cost or you can wash your own at the farmhouse. |

Accessibility
Les Boiges is on 1 level with three entrances, 2 at ground level, ideal for wheelchairs.
Outside
Large 2 acre garden with fruit trees, ideal for children to run around. The garden overlooks the beautiful French open countryside. Sunny patio with garden furniture, sun loungers and barbecue with 10m x 5m private swimming pool. The property also has its own private lake of 1.5 acres with many fish, including carp to 35lbs, Black Bass, Pike, Roach, Rudd, Tench etc.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is at Royan near Bordeaux, travelling time is 2 hours 9 mins (126km). There are also a few man made beaches one at Aubeterre 9km away and the other at Lake Jemay approx 15km.
Golf
Golf course 10 minutes away (9 hole course) with tennis courts, bar and restaurant.
Special interest holidays
The lake which is part of the property has many species of fish. Carp, silver bream, pike, tench, rudd, roach, perch, eels and bass. Bring your rods and enjoy this very beautiful and peaceful lake or just enjoy eating your picnic and having fun in the Dordogne Sunshine.
Travel
The nearest airport to fly to is Bergerac which is 45 minutes away (58km), you can also fly to Limoges 1 hour 50 minutes (105km) or Bordeaux 1 hour 40 minutes (102km). Angouleme Airport which is only about 45 minutes away is due to open in March which is believed that Ryan Air will fly into. The TGV goes into Anguoleme which is 45 minutes away (48km) or drive direct down from Calais at 8.5 hours (670km approx).
Distances
There are many places of interest close by, Aurbeterre which is 17km is a beautiful medeival town with many small shops and restaurants with local river beach. Brantome (Little Venice) is only 32km away, a beautiful small town with local shops, restaurants, boat rides, canoeing and above all a glass making shop in the caves). Bergerac the wine area is only 58km away, here you have many vineyards and chateaus, Monbazillac is worth a visit with exceptional good quality wine tasting.
Further details
The nearest village is Bertric Buree itself 3km away where you have a bar and fish restaurant and local friendly bakers. Verteillac close by is 2.5km away where you have bars, restaurants, a supermarket, butchers, bakers, chemist and Post Office. Lusignac which is 2km away you have a bar/restaurant where the view is excellent looking over the rolling hills.
Down in Riberac the main town 7km away you will find many restaurants, small shops and above all the local market which is held on a Friday, this market is the largest in the Dordogne and well worth a visit.
You have 2 large supermarkets in Riberac Intermache and E'clerc where you can find good bargains.
Booking notes
Booking is direct with the owner. 25% deposit payable upon booking, balance 6 weeks before arrival. 15% security deposit which is returned within 10 days after departure, this is for damages/misuse to the property. No pets are allowed at Les Boiges and smoking is only prohibitted in the Summer Room.
Guest comments
The House was idyllic, so comfortable, quiet and very peaceful. The pool was superb, ideal for the very hot sunny days which we had. My husband and son enjoyed the fishing it was perfect. The neighbouring farmer brought us fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh laid eggs and a bottle of lovely home made Charente wine. Please thank the farmer for us it was all very lovely and much appreciated.
