The cottage is a renovated farm building, built of stone with beamed ceilings and full of rustic charm. It is situated in a small hamlet called La Gouitiere and is next door to our 300 year old farmhouse. There is a large living area downstairs and a bedroom overlooking orchards and farmland upstairs, outside is a terrace and gardens.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.
Electricity is extra at cost (usually less than £5 in summer).
Linen is available to hire if required.
Discounts for long winter lets.
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday but this can be flexible out of season. Long lets also available out of season. B&B available from Oct to May. Arrival after 2:00pm and departure before 10:00am.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | The bedroom is upstairs and overlooks farmland and orchards. There are 2 single beds or they can be pushed together to make a king size. Duvets and pillows are provided and linen is available to hire. A double bed sofa is in the living area. |
| Bathrooms: | The shower room is off the living area and contains large shower, wc and wash hand basin. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is part of the living area and contains hob, oven, fridge and all cooking utensils. Laundry facilities are available and an iron and board are provided. |
| Living Rooms: | The living room has a double bed sofa and a stove with mantel above provides a cosy focal point. This is one big open plan room with seperate dining area and kitchen. There is a DVD and video player and a selection of books and games for your amusement. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and linen are available to hire and the rental price includes reasonable cleaning at the end of your stay. |
Notes on accommodation
From October - May B&B is also available payable on a nightly basis. Breakfast will be provided in the cottage for you to serve yourselves at your leisure.

Accessibility
The cottage is accessed by steps at the front so we regret that is is not suitable for those with mobility problems.
Outside
Outside the cottage is a terrace with table and chairs and a BBQ. The gardens surrounding are shared with ourselves and there are swings and a football net (and a couple of young playmates if required!)
Coast/Beach
The Normandy landing beaches are approx one hours drive and provide a historical interest along with the normal swimming and sunbathing. There are miles of golden sandy beaches.
Golf
Clecy is the nearest golf course, approx 8kms
Travel
The nearest port is Caen (Ouistreham) and transport is recommended.
Distances
The villages of Donnay and Esson are about 1km in either direction. Thury-Harcourt is approx 6km and has all amenities such supermarkets, restaurants, bars, swimming pool, weekly market etc.
Further details
Suisse Normande is a fantastic area for outdoor pursuits such as cycling, walking, kayaking and horse riding.
There is a lot of history in this area - Falaise, the birthplace of William the Conquerer, Caen with its chateaux and abbeys and the 2nd ww landing beaches.
The countryside is stunning , with the rivers, forests, gorges and lakes.
Normandy is famous for its cider production and its cheese along with many other food products, these can be tasted and bought locally.
Booking notes
We will require a £75 deposit to secure the booking and payment in full is due 6 weeks before arrival. The deposit will then be kept as a security deposit and returned after your holiday less charges for electricity and any damage or breakages.
