Guest comments
'This house was a terrific find and we're already planning a return trip. It sits on the edge of a sleepy village just 5 minutes from an endless beach. Every eventuality was catered for and the place was immaculate. I can't recommend it highly enough' Mr Dyfed Wyn-Evans, Pontyclun.
'Mondesir turned out to be the perfect place for a holiday with three young boys (4,2 and 8 months). Even they were not able to undermine the beautiful tranquility of the setting, despite their best efforts. The house was delightful. Clearly lots of effort had gone into the refurbishment and a great deal of thought into furnishing it with everything that you could need for a comfortable stay, even bicycles, which were a big favourite for the early morning croissant run. A fantastic fortnight.' Cawthorne Family, Surrey)
"We had a wonderful time at Mondesir... the location is beautiful and the nearby beaches, stunning. We will definitely consider returning". Esther Taylor, Oxford.
Owner profile
About the owner
Hello! We are Angie and Bert (Bertrand). I am British and my husband is French and from Bordeaux. We have 2 young children, Hugo (7) and Carla (5) and we live in Hampshire.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
My husband spent much of his adolescence in Le Porge, and it was always his dream to own a property in SW France, so Le Porge was the obvious choice.
We bought the villa in 2007 and spent a lot of time and money lovingly refurbishing the house, re-landscaping the grounds and putting in the pool. We holiday there a lot which is why the house has a home-from-home feel. The house is named after the district in Bordeaux, Mondesir, where his grandparents and father lived and where he spend much of his childhood. We hope you will love the house as much as we do.
Unique benefits of the property
One of the main reasons we bought the villa is so that we can have a holiday destination where we know we have everything we need on site, and where we know we are guaranteed a lovely villa and pool, a calm environment, great beaches and super restaurants, as we have so often been disappointed in the past. We also wanted to be sure the house was suitable for young children.
The house is equipped with everything you might need, including baby equipment and toys and games.
