Maison du Pont is a luxury apartment, set in an original stone-built house, with a balcony overlooking the river Aude and medieval town of Limoux. From here wander over the bridge into the main square, to find traditional French shops, bars and restaurants, and relax and enjoy the local food and wines, often entertained by local musicians bringing together a mix of French and Catalan cultures. Situated in the heart of the Languedoc, close to Spain and the Pyrenees, the climate is warm in summer, with crisp, cold winters, and sunshine for most of the year. There are quaint medieval villages, Cathar castles, tumbling rivers and stunning views of the mountains, as well as a full range of outdoor sports and activities, including swimming, cycling, walking, tennis and golf. Winter sports include downhill and cross country skiing – and from January to March join in with the ‘Fecos’, when dancers in pierrot costumes circle the square in a carnival unique to this delightful town.
