It is situated in a sleepy hamlet near to the historic city of Carcassonne with the two World Heritage Sites of La Cité and the Canal du Midi. Join us in the beautiful Cathar Country, for an unforgettable holiday experience. Grezes is only 4km to the west of the historic city of Carcassonne, with its magnificent Medieval City, the river Aude, and the ancient Bastide and market. The picturesque Canal du Midi is nearby, and can be easily reached on foot via the hamlet of Herminis. The beaches of the Mediterranean are only 45 minutes by car. Transport links are good, with our local Carcassonne Salvaza Airport in the vicinity. Toulouse airport is a 45 minute drive away. The mainline station is in Carcassonne, and buses serve the local area.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday.
The normal entry time into the villa will be 4pm on the day of arrival due to cleaning requirements.
On the day of departure you will need to vacate the property by 10am.
Accommodation

| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
All towels and bed linen are included, including beach towels. The Villa will be cleaned at the end of your visit and fresh linen will be provided weekly. The proprietors are available for pool and garden maintenance and reside in an adjoining building. |

Accessibility
The villa is on one level, however there is one step to negotiate on entry from the drive. People with limited mobility may find this acceptable.

Coast/Beach
The villa is within easy reach of the Mediterranean. Take a 45 minute drive to the seaside town of Gruissan to see the unusual houses built on stilts and taste some wonderful freshly cooked fish. Or perhaps Narbonne Plage a modern resort with its huge beach and broad promenade.
More locally there is the beach at Carcassonne's own lake, Lac Cavayere, which offers water sports and swimming.
Travel
Grezes is 10 mins drive from Carcassonne airport and Junction 23 of the A61 Autoroute.
Ryanair flies into Carcassonne from Stansted, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Dublin, Shannon and Charleroi. For details visit the Ryanair website.
Toulouse, Montpellier, and Perpignan airports are easily accessible with a variety of airlines.
Car hire is available at all these airports, and is recommended.
Carcassonne railway station is 4km from Grezes with connections from all over France.
Distances
Grezes is situated 4km west of Carcassonne. To the south you have the Pyrenees, with easy access to Andorra, and Spain via local motorways. The following places of interest are easily accessible for day visits: Limoux, home of beautiful wines; the Black Mountains steeped in Cathar history with the towns of Revel, Sorreze and Saissac; the canal du Midi with its historical locks and boat trips; Mirepoix with its medieval market square; and the medieval cite of Carcassonne, a world heritage sight.
Booking notes
Low season please enquire. Mid season £600. High season £850. Peak season £900. Prices shown are for the property per week, and include all bed and bathroom linen. Beach/pool towels are also provided. The Villa will be cleaned at the end of your visit and fresh linen will be provided weekly. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking with the final balance due 8 weeks before your holiday. A refundable breakage deposit of £200 is also required.
