La Cachette
La Cachette

La Cachette is a charming rural retreat in the heart of Brittany, just over 1 hr from St Malo. It is an ideal base for walking, cycling or exploring Brittany by car. In the peaceful hamlet of Query, the property is surrounded by private extensive gardens overlooking woodland and a beautiful lake (L'Etang du Chateau Tro) containing carp, perch, roach, trout, pike and bream . No permit is required so bring your rods! Guilliers (about 3km) has a supermarket, bakery, butcher, pharmacy, delightful restaurant and bars. Nearby medieval towns include Dinan, (described by one of our guests as the Jewel in the Crown), Josselin with its magnificent chateau and bustling Saturday market and the beautiful Rochefort en Terre. At Ploermel (15 mins), you can enjoy the Lac au Duc, Brittany's largest natural lake, which offers water sports, sandy beach and swimming opportunities. An attractive 9-hole golf course borders the lake. A vast selection of sandy beaches lie less than an hour's drive away.
