Notes on accommodation
Arranged as two self-contained units, but rented as one, the ground floor house and its loft studio offer flexible family accomodation for all seasons. Both are well-insulated and cosy in winter, cool in the heat of summer.
Furnishings are comfortable and stylish, yet practical for family use. Antique oriental rugs on the ground floor lend a warm charm to the insulated terracotta tiling. While the loft studio is furnished to a more modern taste and carpeted throughout.
Stable doors at the front and off the side of the building give immediate access straight onto the leafy garden spaces and play areas.
The house is well arranged for children, though younger children will need supervision on the external stairs.
Regretfully, pets are not allowed.
As we have stayed at the house frequently, you will find it has a more homely feel and is less like a rental property.

Further details
Normandy offers over 30 gardens to visitors, all within an hour's drive of Clos Cristina. Some of these are private and only open by request to visitors in June when they are of course at their very best. Two of the best are the Parc des Bois Moutiers, on the coast near Dieppe, where the house and gardens were designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Gertrud Jeykll, and the 'Parc Floral William Farcy, also near Dieppe, which is devoted to roses. A trip to gardens in this area would not be complete without a visit to Monet's gardens at Giverny, and on your return visit the 'Jardin des Plantes' in Rouen, which is of both botanical and landscape interest, with a 19th century orangery and a collection of medicinal plants and rare trees. Cycle routes and trails are well provided for in Seine-Maritime. Two routes pass right by the house in Les Mesnils and there another ten routes within 15 mins. Routes vary from short family routes to more strenuous rides of up to 50km.
To the French the essence of Normandy is its produce. This is the land of Camembert and Calvados, cider and seafood, and a butter-and-cream-based cuisine with a proud disdain for most things nouvelle. All of this can be found in local markets, farm produce stalls and local shops. Dieppe is rightly famous for its Saturday market and nearby Luneray provides something unique in France - shopping and retail opportunities on a Sunday. The famous French pizza van can usually be found in Bacqueville on Thursdays and Saturdays, and at a permanent site in nearby Brachy (park outside the Town Hall). Some of the best seafood in the world can be sampled at the harbour side bars and restaurants in Dieppe. More rustic fare is found nearby in some of the restaurants in the Foret d'Eway and the river valleys of the Varenne and Saane. Supermarkets and banks are available in the towns of Bacqueville and Luneray.

What a fantastic, magical garden with lots of places for our 3 year-old to play. The house is warm and welcoming, and well equipped too. We've been to different parts of Normandy 4 times and we loved this area more than any other. The beautiful rural location, with beaches too, is great for a family holiday. Rachel Cheesman.

Just came back from a great weekend in Clos Cristina. Very nice. Thank you. Hope to be able to come back more times. Filip.

We had a great holiday and loved Clos Cristina. The house looked great in the photos but was even lovelier than we expected. You have a really beautiful and well-equipped house and the garden is stunning. The children loved looking through the hedging to find a donkey looking back at them! We'll definitely recommend Clos Cristina to our friends. Kay & Family.

I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to sample Normandy, and owners who really want you to enjoy their own family home. Nick.
