This private apartment is new set in a unique central La Rochelle location 'where old La Rochelle meets the new', right next to the vibrant Ville en Bois quarter, which is set at the entrance to the Old Port of La Rochelle, just 15 minute walk from the studio. Ideal location for self catering holiday accommodation, just 5 minutes to seafront and 10 minutes to Minimes marina, beach, bars and restaurants. It consists of a living room/bedroom with kitchenette and full width balcony, an entrance hall with fitted wardrobe and a shower room/WC. There is a full sized double bed with quality mattress, which folds to the wall (it is not a sofa-bed). All La Rochelle attractions are within easy walking, or cycling distance, but if you feel lazy 2 bus routes stop outside your door. If you have your own car, all major routes are easily accessible and secure underground car parking is provided. You will soon find why La Rochelle is "the most attractive and unspoilt seaside town in France".

Changeover day
Outside July/August the studio can be booked by the night minimum 3 or 4 nights depending on season and start/finish days can be any midweek day Monday-Friday. In July and August bookings can only be made by the full week starting on Thursdays or Fridays.

Bedrooms: The sleeping area has a full sized double bed with quality mattress, which folds to the wall to create extra space if you want it (it is not a sofa-bed). A small child's bed or cot can be made available.
Bathrooms: Fully tiled modern shower room and WC.
Kitchen: Kitchenette includes fridge/freezer, twin hob, mini-oven and grill and is very well equipped with all necessary cooking equipment.
Utility Room: A washing machine is provided in a recess in the shower room.
Living Rooms: The living room/bedroom is well designed to provide a spacious and airy feel, with all new furniture and fittings. It includes sofa, coffee table, dining table and chairs, TV/DVD (with small library of DVD's), CD/radio player, telephone and sideboard.
Other: In one corner of the living room/bedroom is the kitchenette. At the other end of the room is the sleeping area. In the entrance lobby is a fitted wardrobe and safe.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Bath, hand and T-towels are provided, as is bed linen (with duvet). Guests are asked to bring their own beach towels. Change of towel and linen provided every 7 days.

 

Notes on accommodation
The studio can accommodate one small child in addition to two adults. No pets please. No smoking in the studio - please use the balcony!

Accessibility
Although the studio is not large enough for guests to use a wheelchair inside, guests with mobility difficulties who use a mobility scooter and/or wheelchair to get around outside the studio have stayed - with very positive feedback. The surrounding area is relatively level, and being newly developed there are more 'wheelchair friendly' ramps around, than in other areas - although still not as many as there should be.

Outside
The apartment has a full width balcony, equipped with two steamer style chairs and a table and chairs for alfresco eating. The balcony overlooks the residence's decked courtyard with palms and olive trees.

Coast/Beach
5 minutes walk to the seafront. 10 minutes walk to the sandy beach at Minimes, with bars and restaurants overlooking the beach and the surrounding marinas.

Travel
The studio is easily accessible, with no need to have a car - 20min taxi ride from La Rochelle airport, with direct flights from UK and elsewhere. 10min taxi ride from the rail station – with high speed TGV trains from the UK. If you prefer to drive, or hire a car, there is easy access to the autoroute network (just 4 hours from the Channel ports). Once there, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to get around La Rochelle and its surrounding areas, whether by foot, boat, train or bus.

1km to entrance to La Rochelle's Old Port. 0.5km to seafront. 0.75km to Minimes marina. Situated in the beautiful Charente Maritime and within easy striking distance of the Aquitaine, Gironde including the Medoc, with loads of interesting places to visit and things to do in the area. Within easy striking distance are Chatelallion Plage, Ile de Re, Ile d'Oleron, St Jean d'Angely, Angouleme, Royan, Rochefort, Cognac, Blaye, Saintes, Niort and even Bordeaux.

Further details
Set around La Rochelle's Old Port with its famous twin towers are a host of delights including port side bars and restaurants, old arcaded town streets, parks and gardens, historical buildings and La Rochelle beach to relax on after a walk though the seafront parks. The apartment itself has many shops, bars and restaurants within 5 mins walk.

Booking notes
Payments are only accepted by credit or debit card. A 25% booking deposit is payable at the time of booking. Final payment is due 8 weeks before your booking commences. A £100 or 145 euros per booking breakages/excess cleaning deposit (depot de garantee) is payable with the final payment, but is simply repaid to your card within 7 days of the end of your stay, less any unavoidable deductions.
