'Ballade des Pins' affords stunning views over vineyards,olive groves and the friendly market town of Lodeve, just 10 minutes stroll away. Here you will find an extensive range of restaurants, bars and shops and an authentic 'joie de vivre'! Continental breakfast is provided daily between 8.00 and 9.00 am, on the terrace or in the dining room, and is included in the room price. We offer evening meals three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) and a range of walking activities enabling you to make the most of the spectacular countryside, lakes and villages nearby. Detailed maps are provided, with transport to starting points within a 20 mile radius of the B&B. Or you can hike for 120 kilometres on the St Jacques de Compostelle route, which cuts across our area, or enjoy the seven circular walks on offer, all beginning and ending at the B&B. We also provide guides covering the wider area - the coast is 30 minutes away: Carcassonne, Nimes, Montpellier are within reach.

Notes on accommodation
Central heating is available during the winter months. Unfortunately we cannot accept pets. Smoking is not allowed in the house or on any of the balconies or terraces but is permitted within the grounds. The swimming pool is open everyday between the beginning of June and the end of August.
Outside
Guests have access to the balconies, terrace and may also like to sit in the garden in one of the charming enclaves that we have created. Here you will also find our 5 and a half metre diametre, above ground swimming pool. Wooden decking surrounds the pool itself and there is also a grassy area with shower. Deck chairs, recliner are provided. There is also a large outdoor barbecue and plenty of tables, chairs, parasols etc.
Coast/Beach
The Mediterranean coast is just thirty minutes drive due south of Lodeve, making resorts such as Cap d'Agde, Meze, Serignan and Sete easily accessible. Nearby Lake Salagou, about 4 kilometres from the house, also offers all watersports in a safe and scenic setting.
Special interest holidays
During the days, why not avail of the range of walking activities that we offer four times a week? We have researched and devised a series of routes that enable you to make the most of the spectacular countryside, lakes, villlages and historic sites nearby. Detailed maps and equipment are provided along with transport to specific starting points, all within a 20 mile radius of the B&B. If you want to make your own way from the B&B and back, without taking a lift, then you also have a choice of seven circular walking routes that we can offer you. New for 2009 is a further option of walking up to six days on the St Jacques de Compostelle route. Every day we can both drop off and then collect you (by arrangement) as you make your way across this stunning pilgrimmage route.
Travel
Airports - Montpellier 50 mins, Beziers/Cap d'Agde 45 mins, Nimes 1 hr 20 mins, Perpignan 1 hr 25 mins, Carcassonne 1 hr 30 mins, Rodez 1hr 30 mins, Marseilles 2hrs 30 mins.
Montpellier Railway Station is 50 minutes drive from the house and is serviced by the TGV. There are also bus services between Montpellier railway station and Lodeve, and Beziers/Cap'Agde airport and Lodeve. Lodeve is placed within easy access of the A75.
Distances
There is an enormous variety of places to visit. A few kilometres up the motorway the scenery changes dramatically and you will find yourself on the Larzac Plateau. You will discover delights such as La Couvertoirade, and The Tarn Gorge.
Further afield you may prefer trips to Nimes, the Pont du Gard, Montpellier or Carcassonne. Even Spain is within reach, being only two hours drive away.
Further details
The nearest supermarket 'Netto' is five minutes walk from the house. Lodeve has over ten restaurants and five bars and is only ten minutes walk from the house.
