Corlay Cottages comprises a 19th century cottage with a detached annex situated near Lake Guerledan in the Cotes d'Armor region of Brittany, France. It is the ideal location for your Brittany holiday. The cottages are available for short term self catering holiday rentals / vacation rentals as well as longer term lets. The holiday cottages consist of a 3 bedrooms main house and a detached 1 bedroom Annex, and sits in almost 2 acres of garden with a heated swimming pool. The garden consists of lawned areas, a raised decking area, a wooded area, a BBQ area. It has English TV, sports equipment including bikes, DVD player and video. 'Corlay Cottage' is ideal for up to two families offering spacious living accommodation for up to 7 people with a large private garden and swimming pool away from any main roads making it ideal for a family holiday. The annex is a self contained, 1 bedroom bungalow set in a courtyard with a private BBQ area and decking area.

The kitchen/diner is fully equipped with a dishwasher, large gas hob, double oven, fridge, freezer, toaster and coffee maker, kettle and microwave. There is a large table, with generous seating for 6 chairs, a beamed ceiling, tiled floor and exposed stone wall.
The living room has a huge stone fireplace with wood burning fire. There are 2 large designer leather sofas with matching easy chair. The room has a TV, English satellite system, an impressive music system with amps, DVD and video.
Bedroom 1 contains a double bed and has room for 2 cots.
Bedroom 2 contains a double bed base/single bed top bunk bed
Bedroom 3 contains 2 single beds
There is a main bathroom with toilet, sink, bath and shower and a downstairs toilet/utility room with a washing machine and dryer.

The Annex is a detached single storey cottage refurbished in Spring 2007.
Lounge/diner contains dining table and 4 chairs, a wood burner, TV/DVD and L shaped sofa.
The bedroom contains a double bed and wardrobe.
There is a fitted kitchen with fridge/ freezer, oven, hob microwave and coffee making facilities.
The bathroom contains WC, sink and a self contained power shower unit with side jets and seat.

 

Notes on accommodation
This accommodation is ideally suited for families with young children and the owners can supply if requested items such as stair gates, baby baths, cots, sterilizing equipment, car seats, push chairs, stair gates, fire guards etc in order to minimise luggage requirements. The extensive gardens are ideal for children being private and away from any roads and there is ample room for parking. The gardens back onto to open fields on one side and a beech wooded area on the other side which has a stream flowing through it, making it an ideally situated for country walks.

Outside
There are extensive gardens to the front and rear of the property totalling almost 2 acres, partly landscaped and partly natural. Directly in front of the cottage there is a stone patio with garden furniture and fire hole, ideal for sipping wine beneath the stars at any time of year. There is also a BBQ and sun house containing a variety of sporting equipment for the more active. To the rear of the property is beautiful decking area with a heated swimming pool (approx 9m x 5m) in the centre. It is completely surrounded by wooden balustrades with gates (and combination locks) to the front and rear. The pool as such is completely fenced off to comply with French safety laws and has an entry alarm, giving peace of mind if small children are playing unattended. On the patio area there is an additional table and chairs with sun loungers with views over the additional lawned area to the beech wood beyond.

Coast/Beach
Corlay Cottages are ideally located to access the wonderful coastlines to the north and south of Brittany, with the closest beach only 35 mins away. The magnificent Lake Guerledan is a 10 min drive from Corlay Cottages and includes the beach resorts of Beau Rivage and Anse de Sordan. The lake expands a colossal 12 km, and hosts a great number of water sports.

Approx journey times from the main ferry ports and airports by car to Corlay Cottages are: Dinard airport 70 mins. Rennes airport 80 mins. Brest airport 90 mins. St Malo 75 mins. Cherbourg 3 hours 10 mins. Caen 2 hours 35 mins. Le Havre 3 hours 30 mins. Dieppe 4 hours 30 mins. Calais 5 hours 45 mins. Boulogne 5 hours 30 mins. Roscoff 85 mins.

Distances
The cottages / gites are ideally placed for holidays in Brittany offering easy access to both north and south coasts. The house is situated about 15-20 mins drive from the medieval tourist towns of Pontivy and Loudeac and 10 mins from the ‘Petite City of Character’ Mur-de-Bretagne. The nearest town is Corlay (2-3km) which has numerous bars, restaurants, a supermarket, banks (with cash point), a boulangerie (bakery), a castle ruin and a horse racing circuit.
