New, large (95sq.m) 3 bedroom duplex apartment in the beautiful village of La Chapelle D'Abondance, near Chatel, in the vast Portes Du Soleil ski area. The apartment is furnished and equipped to a very high standard with 2 bathrooms, a separate toilet and a large terrace. All 3 bedrooms also have a small balcony. The apartment is located within walking distance of the local slopes in La Chapelle. 2 mins away by bus or car is the gondola station which takes you in to the main Portes Du Soleil ski circuit.

Prices are for the whole property per week in UK Pounds. Prices include cleaning. Linen (bed linen, towels, bath matts, tea towels) is charged extra at 20 Euros per person, payable locally in cash.

Bedroom 3 ground floor with twin beds and balcony.
A single sofa bed is located on the mezzanine.
All bedrooms have large fitted warbrobes.
Bathrooms: Bathroom on 1st floor with WC, large shower unit and basin.
Second bathroom on ground floor with full sized bath and shower over bath.
Separate WC with basin on the ground floor.
Kitchen: Well equipped kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker and a full set of cooking and eating utensils. A large 6 seater dining table with extender (and spare chairs) looks out of large picture windows across the valley.
Utility Room: A washing machine and tumble dryer is also provided in the apartment. There are numerous large storage cupboards in the apartment.
Living Rooms: Living room includes sofa, chairs and a number of stools. Flat screen TV, DVD player and stereo. Stereo includes IPOD connector and charger. A large bookshelf contains an array of books to read along with several board games.
Other: The kitchen contains many 'basic' food items which guests can use. There is a Sony Playstation 2 console with a variety of games.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Cleaning is included in the cost, although the apartment must be left tidy when guests leave. Linen is charged at 20 Euros per person, which includes all bed linen, towels, bath mats and tea towels. Linen costs are payable locally to our agent in cash.

 

Notes on accommodation
Electric heaters in all rooms, controlled by a central digital thermostat in the lounge. The apartment has two, separate hot water tanks for each bathroom, ensuring ample hot water is available at all times.

A lift takes guests to the second floor, where the apartment is located.

Outside
A large, integral garage is provided which has an electric, automatic door. There are ski lockers in the lobby for guests skis.

Skiing
Forming part of the immense Portes du Soleil, a consortium of 14 ski villages ranging from the internationally recognized (Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets) to unspoilt hamlets, Châtel offers skiers and boarders access to 650km of piste. The apartment is directly opposite the local La Chapelle slopes and a 2 min drive/bus to the main La Chapelle gondola station, linking in to the Portes De Soleil ski circuit. Challenging Linga slopes. Alternatively, you can drive to Pre la Joux (10 mins away). This area is excellent for beginners and provides a rapid link to Avoriaz and its 2800m high slopes.

Travel
90 mins drive from Geneva airport or approx 9 hours drive from Calais. There are numerous flights to Geneva from the UK on BA, Swiss, Easy Jet and Globespan. You can fly to Chambery, which is about 90Km from the flat, and the drive takes just over 2 1/2 hours.

Distances
The apartment is in the centre of La Chapelle D'Abondance with numerous restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. A ski hire shop and lift pass office are within 5 mins walk of the apartment. La Chapelle has a tourist information office, several banks, pharmacy, ESF ski school, Cinema and a number of shops within walking distance of the apartment.

Further details
The large town of Chatel is less than 10 minutes drive away. We can help organise childcare - either at the Creche, or we know a great nanny who will come to the flat.

Vaughan - Just a quick note to say how impressed we were with the apartment, loads of space and very well equipped. The previous people staying even left us some beer - superb!
Mel was great and the skiing and location were fantastic. We spent most of our time skiing around from the lifts at the top of Pre la Joux and a couple of days over towards Avoriaz and Morzine. If you ever need a testimonial feel free to ask - we've only got good things to say about the holiday! Once again thanks for a great stay and we may be booking again for next year. Simon Cannell
