Based in the Poitou-Charentes region of France, we are located in Brettes, a small village situated in the relaxing countryside of Charente, only 10 mins from Ruffec with its many shops and restaurants. Brettes is served by a traditional fresh bread delivery van, which enters the courtyard for your convenience. Villefagnan (2km), has a chemist, 2 small supermarkets, 2 bakers, a tabac bar and 2 restaurants. Local area facilities include a lake at Villefagnan, with man-made beach for swimming, fishing or just soaking up the sun.

Notes on accommodation
Each property has its own private patio area with gas BBQ and patio furniture. Satellite TV/ DVD in all Cottages. There is also a laundry room for the use of all guests. Cots and highchair available. No pets allowed.
Accessibility
La Forge property is suitable for people with mobility problems, as all rooms are on the ground floor (including bedroom).
Outside
With over 3 acres of gardens there is plenty of space for playing games or just relaxing. In the pool area there is a sandpit and swings for the younger children and plenty of lawns and terraced areas for sunbathing. Heated swimming pool, with a constant depth of 1.5m and surrounded by a security fence making it safer for children, has sweeping steps on 2 diagonal corners that are ideal for sitting on and cooling off during the long sunny days. Facilities include: children’s swings, gazebo, area for ball games, climbing frame, table tennis, badminton, cricket, table football, snooker, volleyball, air hockey, 9 hole mini golf, sun beds around the swimming pool, boules, bed linen, welcome pack.
Coast/Beach
Seaside towns of Royan (90 mins) and La Rochelle (90 mins) are all within easy reach for a day trip.
Golf
Golf du Cognac is approximately 45 mins. drive, excellent course and restaurant.
Travel
By Ferry: Calais, or St. Malo (overnight crossing). St. Malo overnight crossing is recommended.
By Air: Paris (5 hours), Poiters (45 mins) La Rochelle (90 mins) Limoges ( 90 mins). You will need a hire car from the airport.
Distances
Cognac and Angoulême (40 mins) are great for a day out.
Don’t forget to visit the FuturoScope science theme park, near Poitiers, fun for all the family.

Ruffec is only 10mins. drive away with its many restaurants and bars also 2 very good hypermarkets for all your needs. Canoeing / kayak on the river at Ruffec has been very popular with our guests.
