The cottage is the gatehouse to a small private 19th century chateau. Stylishly decorated to a high standard of comfort and charm, good quality furnishings, white cotton bedding and the odd antique create a home away from home in this unique and beautiful location. Surrounded by 15 hectares of magnificent parkland, a maze of footpaths offer walks through woodland alleys, past ancient trees to holy wells. The large groomed lawns and glorious beds of camelias, rhododendrons and azaleas give wonderful ever changing views. Guests also have access to the heated, infinity swimming pool of the chateau. Exclusively located just 3km from the heart of historic Quimper in Southern Finistere, the property enjoys all the amenities of one of France's most beautiful, least known little cities yet is far enough removed to feel cocooned in a haven of verdure. Not far from the sea and a choice of fantastic beaches, it is the ideal base from which to explore this lovely part of Brittany.

Changeover day is Satuday. Arrival 3:30pm Departure 10am.

Notes on accommodation
We have made every effort to create what we hope is the benchmark for private holiday rental accommodation. No expense has been spared in ensuring that our properties meet the highest of standards. The idea being that your holiday accommodation meets all your expectations, and more, and that you have not left the creature comforts of home too far behind. Children are very welcome. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. We are on hand to answer any questions you might have, and are happy to assist in finding a babysitter so you can eat out in one of the many fantastic restaurants that Quimper has to offer. The garden lover will appreciate the park lands of the chateau, the springtime display of azaleas, rhododendrons and camelias will merit a special visit. For the wildlife enthusiast, deer, rabbits, badgers and foxes can often be spotted on the property.

Outside
The gatehouse is situated at the entrance to the property and has its own private garden of 800m2 but guests are free to roam the park of the chateau . There is a play area for children with swings, slides and a large trampoline. For the more energetic a mountain bike track of 2.6km, and a maze of woodland footpaths . Guests can use the beautiful 13 x 4.5m heated infinity swimming pool, the only other users being our family! Finished in 2005, the natural stone and mosaic pool is heated and uses bromine so the water does not smell or sting. It is secured to French safety norms and situated 250m from the gatehouse, next to the chateau in a very sheltered sunny spot full of plants and flowers.
Coast/Beach
The spectacular coastline of Finistere (approx. 20 mins in each direction) has everything from, sheltered white sand family beaches of Benodet, Beg Meil and Cap Coz to craggy hidden coves on the north coast. The dramatic Pointe de Raz, and wildlife sanctuary of Cap Sizun and surfers paradise of La Torche are also just a short drive away.
One can walk the coastal paths, surf, sail, and windsurf.
Golf
There are 2 golf courses within 20 minutes drive.
Travel
Quimper is easy to get to either via the ferry to Roscoff (75 mins) or with a new 'flybe' flight service from Exeter, Southampton and Birmingham to Brest (40 mins).

The centre of Quimper is 3km. The nearby beaches are 18km.

Located just to the north of the centre of Quimper, Kistinic enjoys a rural location but is just a few minutes from this beautiful medieval city. With it's cathedral, excellent museums, pedestrianised cobbled streets, lively cafes, gourmet restaurants and chic boutiques, Quimper has plenty to offer the visitors. A boat trip down the Odet, one of the most beautiful rivers in France, will take you from Quimper to Benodet and on to the azur beaches of the Iles de Glenan.
The enclosed fishing port of Concarneau, the galleries of Pont Aven, the seaside town of Benodet and Sainte Marine are all within easy reach.
For the cyclist there are miles of small touring roads or local mountain bike tracks, the list is endless. Combine this with gourmet restaurants, local creperies, and the various festivities that take place throughout the region in summer, you have all the ingredients of a fantastic French holiday.
