Gite Loustal is somewhere special to stay in this beautiful part of S.W. France. It is completely self contained and on one level, spacious and comfortably furnished and of open plan design with a fully equipped kitchen/living/dining area, a large double bedroom (which would also take a single bed if required) overlooking the pool and south facing garden. A newly fitted luxury shower room has been installed. Shops and amenities are all within walking distance, the larger town of St. Cere is 15kms away, in this picturesque area of the Lot. We have a large swimming pool, shared only with ourselves and set in grounds of just over one acre, backing on to fields and woods, situated between the verdant forests of the Auvergne and the beautiful valleys of the upper Dordogne.

Changeover day
During the main holiday period of July and August we have a changeover day of Saturday, other months could be flexible.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | The large spacious double bedroom is light and sunny, overlooking the pool and south facing garden. Further single bed can be added if required. |
| Bathrooms: | A newly fitted luxury jet shower has been recently installed in the shower room with washbasin, w.c. and bidet. |
| Kitchen: | A very well equipped kitchen with everything you would need to find for a self-catering holiday including full oven with a four plate hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer, iron and ironing board. |
| Utility Room: | There is a separate laundry room housing the washing machine. |
| Living Rooms: | The open plan living area is comfortably furnished with 3 piece suite, dining table and chairs, wall unit with Radio, CD player, a good selection of brochures, books and board games for your use. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
All linen and towels are included with the exception of swimming towels. For a two week holiday sheets and towels will be changed on the Saturday. On your arrival you will find a welcome pack awaiting you. |
Notes on accommodation
The accommodation has electric heaters if required and there are shutters on the windows to keep you cool in the long hot summer days. We are child friendly and have games both inside and outside for them.

Accessibility
Main doors to the gite open to take a wheelchair as will the inside door.
Outside
We have a large 12 x 5 meter pool with small diving board shared only with ourselves, pool shower room, garden furniture, including pool sun beds, patio table and chairs with umbrella, your own BBQ, and a small snooker table, also in the grounds you will find a hammock and garden swing. Bikes and helmets are also available for hire.
Golf
The Castle of Montal with its nine hole golf course and restaurant is 20kms away and also close by is an equestrian centre. Tennis courts can be hired by the hour in the village.
Travel
Travel:- Fly and Drive: the region is well served by both budget and main carriers. The nearest airports are, Rodez a one and a half hour drive, Limoges & Toulouse, both a two and a half hour drive. Bergerac is about a three hour drive.
Sail and Drive:- All channel ports are approximately a 9-10 hour drive away depending of course on traffic conditions.
Motor-rail: A motor-rail system operates between Calais and Brive, if you don't fancy the long drive, then Brive is only an hours drive.
Distances
The village of Sousceyrac offers all you could wish to find on a day-to-day basis. There are two small self-service general shops, each with its own butchers and cheese counter, a bakers, bank with a cash point machine, a doctor's surgery, pharmacy, post office, tourist information office, where you will find lots of information of the local attractions, restaurants and cafes all within walking distance. St. Cere is only 15kms away with its larger shops, museums and cinema.
Further details
The Lot is the place that time forgot and is based on the northern part of the old royal province of the Quercy. It is divided into two areas, the Causse in the centre, which dominates and gives the landscape its distictive character and around this rocky region, the gentler hills and valleys of the Quercy Blanc. This region is an area of exceptional natural beauty and has much to offer for those wanting to have a real French holiday. The Valley of the Dordogne stretches on a 60km east-west band from Sousceyrac to Souillac. The wonderful countryside offers an abundance of wildlife and is a walkers and naturalists paradise with access to the Cantal mountains, where indeed in the winter months there is excellent skiing and other winter sports. Ancient caves, castles and many cliff top villages including Rocamadour, the second most visited place in France are all within a short driving distance. The area is safe and quiet for lovers of walking and mountain biking with many varied routes along roads and forest paths. The Tolerme Lake is only 8kms away, which offers fishing,wonderful bird watching, nature walks and other water based activities. The famous Cahors vineyards are also within very easy reach and the area is renowed for its locally produced goats cheese and fois gras, which is a speciality of the area and is available at many outlets in the surrounding villages. There is never a need to go hungry or thirsty as there is an abundance of bars, cafes and restaurants in the area for all tastes and to suit all budgets and most offer a very good variety of dishes.
Booking notes
Upon a confirmed booking we would need a 25% non-refundable deposit and the remainder to be payed no less than 8 weeks before your arrival date. If less than 8 weeks we would need the full amount to be paid.
