Within a 20 mile radius of this typical Périgord house are the famous Prehistoric caves of the Vézère valley, medieval castles and villages such as Beynac, Castelnaud, La Roque Gageac, the Abbey of Cadouin, and many other places worth a visit. The hills around offer a peaceful scenery of forests, rivers, fields, dotted with manor houses and farmhouses. The house is located at the end of a lane, near a farmhouse and is surrounded with fields. There is a large garden with a variety of trees, shrubs and flowers at the back, with a grass area for children to play. A conservatory opens onto the garden and a small lily pond. The front of the house overlooks some woodland. A lane used by walkers goes along two sides of the property, but no cars go by, making the spot a tranquil retreat from the bustle of nearby towns. The swimming pool is 5 m by 10 m and has a diving end. A full array of sporting facilities can be found in the vicinity from canoeing to water sports, riding and golfing.

Notes on accommodation
This property welcomes pets provided they are restricted to the downstairs rooms and kept under control at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the pool. It is the owners' responsibility to clean up their mess. Fields and lanes make it easy to take them out.
Please check charges according to the type of pet.
The presence of a pond may be a hazard to toddlers. The shallow end of the pool is about 4 ft deep, which makes it unsuitable for very young children.

Accessibility
Although not specially built for that purpose, one bedroom downstairs (number 3) can be quite easily accessed from the car parking area and is on a level with the kitchen, conservatory and front terrace. A grassed area must be crossed to reach the swimming pool. Please inquire for further details.
Outside
A large, secluded garden at the back with sunny spots and shady areas to suit everyone offers a variety of trees and shrubs. Garden tables and chairs are available as well as a swing seat.
The front garden gets the morning sun and the front terrace is ideal for breakfast.
There is a garage for one car and space for parking.
The swimming pool is 5 m by 10 m with a diving end, corner steps and a ledge all round.
Sunbeds with cushions and parasols are available.
Coast/Beach
It takes about 3 hours to get to the Atlantic coast in the area of Arcachon.
Golf
A couple of small golf courses are available within 5 miles.
Golf courses available near Bergerac and Sarlat (about 20 miles away).
Travel
Nearest airport: Bergerac (23 miles) direct from Stansted and many UK locations with Flybe.
From Channel ports, driving takes about 10 hours. if using A20 motorway, exit at Souillac and head for Sarlat.
A car is essential for visiting the area. Hiring available at Bergerac airport.

Le Buisson has all amenities, bank, post-office, shops, chemist, doctors. There is a cinema featuring all recent films and often English-language films.

Throughout the Summer season music festivals and cultural events are held in the many villages and towns. A full programme can be made available.
Booking notes
A deposit of one third is payable on booking. The balance is to be paid 8 weeks prior to the start of the holiday.
There is a refundable breakages deposit of £400 payable with final payment.

4-8 weeks before starting date: 50% rate refunded
2-4 weeks before starting date: 25% refunded
less than 2 weeks: no refund
