The villa is some 15kms from Ceret, 20kms from Perpignan and 15 mins from sea at Argeles and the beautiful town of medieval Collioure so well loved by artist over the years. A totally private and peaceful setting with heated (Apr-Oct) 10m by 5m pool in a very large garden planted with flower beds, wild oak, palm and pine trees. Spacious outside terrace around the pool and large L-shaped balcony with BBQ and sun shelter.Particular attention has been given to providing a "home from home" feeling with a touch of luxury of brass beds, white cotton linen and modern bathrooms. Access is by private road, so no passing traffic and ample car parking space. Located very near to quiet village with local minimarket, bar/restaurant and 5mins drive to supermarket.

Outside
Very large garden very suitable for children including a 'boulodrome' that has lights playing for at night. Very private heated swimming pool with BBQ close by.
Coast/Beach
15 mins drive to nearest sandy beach at Argeles. Further south there are 3 smaller beaches with many bars/restaurants. Collioure is 20 mins drive and Port Vendres with its fantastic fish market 25mins. Windsurfing, snorkeling and sea fishing are all available.Hiring of boats is possible but requires a 'boat driving licence'.
Travel
We find Gerona airport with many links including Gatwick Stansted, Luton and Bournemouth to UK with Ryanair to be the best at only 55 mins easy drive on the motorway.In the summer Ryanair flies to Perpignan Airport from Stansted as does Flybe from Southampton, BMI from Manchester and Air France from Paris Orly. Other airports with UK links are Carcassonne, Montpelier, Nimes, Toulouse and Barcelona.

Villelongue currently has a bar/restaurant, a boulangerie, a minimarket, a kebab shop and pizza parlour. St Genis des Fontaines has 3 boulangeries/patisseries, an excellent butcher and a minimarket. A Carrefour supermarket and petrol station is 1km to the east of St Genis. The location offers the diversity of beaches and mountains together with the opportunity for hiking and rambling. The Spanish border on the motorway is only 20 mins away giving access to their beaches and Barcelona not much further.
