The apartment is located in Chinaillon close to Le Grand Bornand which was featured in 'The Times' recently as being one of the last undiscovered places in the Alps. In Winter it is a skiiers paradise with a reputation for excellent snow conditions. The area is great in the Summer months too with plenty of walking and biking trails. The Tour de France goes though the village on July 15th/16th so you can watch cycling as well as enjoying it yourself! The appartment itself is decorated in the Savoyard style and has wonderful views over the surrounding mountains and valleys. It is fully equipped with the usual amenities and has been tastefully furnished and decorated. It is fully managed by an English speaking company who are available during your stay if required.

Changeover day
The changeover day is Saturday and the apartment must be vacated by 10.00am. Arrival time is 4.00pm.

Living Rooms: The lounge opens out through full height windows to a large balcony. It has a comfortable sofa which converts to a double bed and a dining area for six people. There is a flat screen television and DVD player.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is heated by electric heaters in each room. It is suitable for children although we would need to know in advance if there was a requirement for cots/high chairs etc
Smoking is not allowed in the apartment and nor are pets.

Coast/Beach
There is an outside swimming pool at Le Grand Bornand with a safe toddler area. Lake Annecy is only 25km away where there are plenty of facilities including watersports, swimming and sunbathing.

Skiing
The apartment is just yards from the nearest slope and lift. There is skiing to suit all levels and it is especially good for families as it has a very good ski school. There is also cross country skiing, a large snow park and off piste skiing for the more adventurous. Just 15 minutes up the road is La Clusaz which offers another 120km of slopes and is covered by the same lift pass.

Travel
Geneva airport is less than one hour's drive away and is served by the low cost airlines. Car hire is available at the airport as are coaches.
The drive from Calais is about 520 miles.

Further details
There are shops and restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. In Le Grand Bornand there are some fabulous gift shops and lots of restaurants serving local specialities. There is a wonderful market on Wednesdays where wonderful local produce can be sampled. Close to Chinaillon is Le Col de la Colombiere which at an altitude of 1613 metres is famous for the Tour de France. It is certainly a challenge for bikers during the Summer months. The beautiful lakeside town of Annecy is only 25km away and is well worth a visit.
