Just 3 hours from Calais, our cottages can be found in the heart of the champagne growing region, surrounded by rolling hills and woodlands. Situated in a small village of 112 inhabitants, 12 km from the thriving market town of Chateau Thierry, we provide an ideal base for visiting Paris and Disney, while enjoying the tranquillity of rural life. The cottages have been renovated to a high standard, whilst preserving their character with plenty of mellow stone, oak beams and a wood burning stove in each. No longer a working farm, the cottages and farm buildings form a lawned courtyard, where it is safe for children to play.Within the grounds there is a pool, volley ball court, swings and table tennis table. Plenty of garden furniture and a BBQ can be found outside each cottage.

These prices are based on 5 people sharing. Extra people are charged at £50 per week. Euros are also accepted, at the exchange rate of the day of booking.

Changeover day
During peak times changeover occurs on a Saturday. During other periods we try to fit in with your plans.

The Terrace-French windows lead from the living room onto the sunny terrrace with table and chairs plus the bbq.

Living Room- 2 sofas, 2 armchairs, bookshelves, and coffee table. Log burner.
Kitchen/dining room. The original farmhouse kitchen with oven, and gas hob, fridge with small freezer unit, microwave and dishwasher. Large table with chairs in the centre of this room.

 

Notes on accommodation
All reasonable usage of gas electricity and wood is included in the price of your holiday. The cleaning and all bed linen except for towels is included. Cots and high chairs supplied free of charge, on request. There are electric wall mounted heaters in all room, for the cooler months.
There is a free laundromat on the complex.

Accessibility
The Granary has it's bedrooms, toilet and washing facilities on the ground floor, giving easier access for disabled people. However at present there are no specific facilities for the disabled.

Outside
There are two large grassed courtyards where children can play safely, unsupervised. We have a shared pool, with sun-loungers, volley ball pitch,swings and table tennis. Outside each cottage there are chairs, a table and bbq.

Golf
Within one hours drive there are four courses, the nearest being the Val du Secret, at Chateau Thierry, 10 minutes, by car. There is also a very good restaurant here, allowing non golfers to enjoy a drink, on the terrace, while the golfers play!

A car is essential in this area.
Calais- 170 miles.
Paris airport CDG.- 57 miles

Further details
Although there are no shops in Monthiers, there is a restaurant, and small bar. There is a baker's van which stops at La Ferme, daily.
