One with 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 8, the other with 2 bedrooms, sleeping up to 6. Available separately or can be combined for larger parties. Converted to a high standard but maintaining a wealth of original features including stone walls and exposed oak beams. Spacious and comfortable living area each with their own terraces. Large fenced and alarmed pool set in 3.5 acres of garden and meadow with uninterrupted views of spectacular Dronne Valley. Peaceful setting but within 5km of two unspoilt small towns with all amenities and swimming lake with sandy beach and children’s play area.

Notes on accommodation
Thick stoned walls and tiled floors downstairs keep the cottages cool in summer. The Farrier's Cottage has central heating making it ideal for longer winter lets, house hunting or exploring the area. Set of a quiet rural track and gated to the front the accommodation provides a safe environment for children. Both gites are non smoking and we do not accept pets. We reserve the right to charge for additional leaning required if the properties are not left in the condtion that they were found.

Downstairs bathrooms in both properties. Level access to pool area.
Outside
The property is set in 3.5 acres of gardens and meadows with a gate to a small rural track to the front, making it suitable for children. Each gite has terrace with seating and BBQ with short pathway leading to large shared 10x5m child friendly pool, with fencing and alarm. Sunloungers and parasols available for guests.
Coast/Beach
Beautiful swimming lake with sandy beach and children's play area and Cafe less than 5km away and 2 more swimming lakes within 30 minute drive. Atlantic coast, Charente Maritime, less than 2 hours.
Travel
Limoges Airport Ryanair and Flybe 35 mins. Bergerac airport Ryaniar 90 mins. Bordeaux 2 hours. Calais and Channel Tunnel 7 hours. Caen and St Malo 5 hours. Use of a car essential.
Distances
Saint Saud Lacoussiere (5km) with bakers, cafes, butchers, general store, Michelin listed restaurant, 2 hotels, swimming lake with fishing. Nontron (20km) with historic market town famous for Nontron knives, large supermarket, weekly market, beautiful square with shops and cafes. Brantome(30km) the Venice of the Dordogne, boat trips and canoeing on the river Dronne, numerous cafes and Michelin stared restaurant. Perigeux (60km) historic city, capital of Dordogne, range of hypermarkets.
Further details
The cottages sit in the heart of unspoilt national parkland and have direct access to a number of scenic walks via local footpaths and cycle routes.
Booking notes
25% non refundable deposit to secure the property. 75% balance 8 weeks before stay. Refundable breakages deposit of £150 required 7 days prior to arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection). We reserve the right to charge for additional cleaning (£20 per hour) required if the property is not left in the condition that it was found in.
