Maison Rouge, Le Fornial, is approx 1 hour from Limoges and Bergerac airports, both provide frequent services to many UK airports and have a range of car hire companies on site. If driving from any of the Channel ports, we suggest you allow 8 hours. We are in a peaceful hamlet with beautiful views over rolling countryside. 2 km to the south is Hautefort with its selection of bars, restaurants and shops for everyday needs and or course the stunning chateau. There are many attractions within a short drive, including the medieval towns of Sarlat, Rocamadour and Beynac. The town of Les Eyzies with its museum of pre-history and the caves of Lascaux are also within easy reach. Many local towns have weekly markets. Canoeing is easily arranged on any of the three main rivers in the area, the Auvezere, the Vezere and the Dordogne. The lake at Rouffiac provides a beach and water sports.The countryside is wonderful for walking and cycling and there is horseriding to be found nearby.

A deposit is required of 20% of the total cost of the holiday to be paid on booking. Please contact us for pricing for long weekends or longer lets.

Saturday - after 4pm arrival, before 10 am departure.

Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with double bed, on the ground floor. Bedroom 2 with double bed, on the first floor with a shower and wc next door. Bedroom 3 with twin beds, on the ground floor. |
| Bathrooms: | Ground floor bathroom with small bath/shower over. Also on the ground floor there is a separate wc. On the first floor, a bathroom with shower and wc. |
| Kitchen: | Fully equipped kitchen with a full gas cooker, freezer, washing machine, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker. |
| Living Rooms: | Double aspect living room with TV (receiving English and French television programmes), DVD player and radio. There is a dining area leading from the living room. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Linen is included and will be changed weekly. Towels are not provided. The property should be left clean as at the beginning of the holiday but can be cleaned at the end of the stay for a small fee. |
Notes on accommodation
Children are welcome and there are various outside games provided, such as boules. Three pedal bikes are provided for the use of guests and new for 2009 is a semi out of ground swimming pool - 24' x 8'. No dogs or other pets are allowed.
In the interests of health and safety no smoking is allowed within the gite. WiFi access available.

The property has two bedrooms on the ground floor together with a bathroom and seperate wc. Please ring for further details.
Outside
The gardens are large. There are three terraces, one covered facing north for you to enjoy the shade when the weather is very hot, one shady facing east and another facing west to catch the evening sun. Also provided for the use of guests is a barbeque, three bikes. New for 2009 will be a swimming pool measuring 22ft x 8ft for the sole use of the guests.
Coast/Beach
The fantastic beaches at Archacon are just over 2 hours away. There are two very large lakes within easy reach witch have water sports, beaches and swimming facilities.
Golf
There are two golf courses in the area, a 9 hole course near Excideuil and an 18 hole course in Perigueux.
Travel
Bergerac and Limoges are an hour away, both have car hire facilities. The distance from Channel ports by car is approximately 600 km and takes about 8 hours.

Hautefort - Chateau and local shops - 2 km.
Perigueux - Medieval town, cathedral and Roman museum - 36 km.
Sarlat - Medieval town - 53 km.
Les Eyzies - Museums of pre-history - 38 km.
Lascaux - Caves - 17 km.
Further details
Local shops can be found in Hautefort, butchers, bakers, paper shop, bars, restaurants and florists. There is also a supermaket just outside the town with has a wide selection of food and goods. There is a bank with a cash point in St Agnan which is also only 2 km away. In the general area there are many small restaurants and bars to choose from.
