Notes on accommodation
Villa Olivier has recently been fully renovated and is furnished in a modern and comfortable style.
Baby equipment provided includes a cot, a highchair, a baby bath, a changing mat and a selection of suitable toys.
The villa has a good selection of games, toys and CDs and internet access is available nearby.
Accessibility
All rooms are on the ground floor making it suitable for young children and the elderly.
Outside
The private terrace, planted with shrubs and an olive tree, has a large wooden table, 4 chairs, a parasol, 2 sun loungers and a BBQ. A locking gate and high perimeter walls allow young children to play securely. The villa is located on a small commune of similar properties with beautiful landscaped communal gardens away from main roads.

You can travel to the region in a number of ways:
- BY AIR with budget airlines Ryanair, Flybe, BMI Baby, easyjet and BA flying in to Perpignan (20 mins), Carcassonne (50 mins), Girona (Spain) (80 mins), Montpellier (60 mins), Toulouse (120 mins) or Barcelona (120 mins).
- BY TRAIN with Eurostar from Waterloo or Ashford to Paris or Lille (1-2 hours) and then SNCF to Narbonne or Perpignan (approx 5-6 hours).
- BY MOTORAIL from Calais to Narbonne.
- BY CAR. Calais to Narbonne.

Port Leucate is a beautiful, well maintained coastal resort located on a lovely, long stretch of sandy beach between Narbonne and Perpignan. The port also borders an inland saltwater lagoon where you can buy fresh oysters, mussels and clams.
The resort offers lots of activities including, wind/kite surfing, canoeing, water skiing and sailing. Bikes are available for hire and there are also two great water and adventure parks within cycling distance of the villa. The adventure park is located in woodland and has a range of ropes, swings, tree climbs etc whilst the water park has a good selection of slides and tunnels as well as a large outdoor swimming pool.
Watersports including wind/kite surfing, sailing, canoeing, diving and water skiing can be found on the coast whilst activities such as cannyoning, mountain biking, rock climbing, horse riding, white water rafting, hiking and golf are also available nearby. The ski resorts of the Pyrennes Mountains are just a 90 minute drive away. The region is littered with historical monuments, abbeys and castles and boasts several UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Pont du Gard, the Canal du Midi, the medieval walled city at Carcassonne and the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela, which take in the abbey of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and the abbey church of Saint-Gilles. A short trip over the border in to Spain will take you to Figueres where you can visit the famous Dali museum and the region is famous for it's great painters.

Booking notes
£250 refundable, security deposit required for protection against damage, breakages etc. This must be paid with the final payment (8 weeks before arrival) and will be refunded within 2 weeks of departure providing there is no damage/breakages.
25% deposit required at the time of booking. Balance payable 8 weeks before arrival.
Arrival is between 12.30pm and 10pm on day of arrival. Departure must be made by 9.00am. Sunday changeovers.

About the owner
I've worked within the international property industry for over 10 years so I felt I was in a pretty good position to choose the right property to buy. The villa in Port Leucate is the only property I own overseas and I believe it's a great, modern property in an unrivaled location.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
My sister and her family moved to Fitou, around 15 minutes from Port Leucate, a few years ago and visiting them was my introduction to the region.
I bought Villa Olivier largely because of it's fantastic location - minutes from both the marina and the beach. The villa required complete renovation and unlike many holiday homes we wanted somewhere as comfortable and as well appointed as our main home. This is why we invested in a good kitchen and appliances, luxury shower, leather sofa, flat screen TV + digital, etc.
Unique benefits of the property
I like the fact that you can either use the property as a great base from which to explore the region or simply park the car when you arrive and not get in it again until you leave. Port Leucate is a great town, has everything you need including some great restaurants and is extremely popular with French holidaymakers (you won't see too many Brits!)
Obviously it's great in the Summer but I very much like retreating there for the odd week or long weekend in the winter to chill out and sample some laid back French living.
I'm lucky to have Dave & Sue, an English couple who live in Port Leucate, manage the property for me. They not only manage the changeovers but are available at all times and ensure that all of our guests have everything they need to enjoy a great holiday.
