The building is a recently restored typical perigordian stone barn of 250m². This is the southern side of an old 18th century farm complex which has been carefully restored by its present owners who live in another but completely separate part of the buildings and assume themselves the management of the gîte. A holiday with 5 bedrooms, it can sleep in great comfort 11 people without the feeling of being one on top of the other, pool in an old farm house. Situated in a tiny, very peaceful village (Le Mas) near Carves in the Black Perigord part of Dordogne. On the top of a hill it has the most magnificent views over the surrounding valleys and of the medieval town of Belvès 6km away.

Notes on accommodation
The pool area is completely enclosed and the pool is secured with an alarm at the side of the pool and in the house.
Accessibility
The ground floor is wheelchair friendly for 2 (bedroom and bathroom 5), as is the patio. Access to the pool area is over a lawn where some help might be needed. Access to the pool is via steps.
Outside
75m² patio with a stone and brick BBQ, outdoor table for 14 and chairs. 1500m² garden. 9 x 4.50m private pool with lounge chairs and table parasol.

One 18 hole golf course L'Olivarie at 3km and one compact 9 hole course La Forge at 4km.

Airports Bergerac 45km, Toulouse 180km, Bordeaux 180k. Use of car is highly recommended. Car hire at airport or at 6km (Belvès). Belvès 6km. Sarlat la Caneda 24km. Bergerac 45km.Perigueux 60km.
Distances
There is a market at Sarlat on Wednesday and Saturday but in summer it is very crowded and traffic and parking can be difficult. Wednesday evening during the summer you can picnic on the market square at Belvès. You take your plate, glass, knife and fork and buy at the market sausages, steaks that the local butcher cooks for you. Foie gras, pizzas, cheese wine etc are also on sale. Further details
All through the summer there are festivals, concerts and exhibitions: Bach in Belvès, the Summer Bergerac Festival, the Perigueux Mime festival, the Tuesday concerts at Banne, the Sarlat theater festival and dozens of others. For the sportsman there are innumerable possibilities - hiking on the very well signposted local tracks, tennis at Siorac and Belvès, horse riding, canoing on the Dordogne. You can also discover the region in a hot air balloon or in a micro light. For those interested in the history of the region there are numerous exceptional prehistoric caves in the Dordogne and Vézère valleys (Lascaux for instance) and the new national prehistoric museum at les Eyzies de Tayac. The 100 years war is never far away with the bastide towns. For cooks and food lovers there are numerous active local markets: Belvès on Saturday morning, a very important one on Sunday morning at St Cyprien next door. There is also a market at le Bugue on Tuesday, at Lalinde on Thursday and at le Buisson on Friday..
