A beautiful Maison de Maitre in the lush country side of the wine making area of Duras. Situated on the hillside of Savignac-de-Duras, this large 5 bedroom house which sleeps 11 plus 2 cot for babies, boasts fantastic views over the valley to the Chateaux de Duras. The house itself sports land of over 1.5 acres is surrounded by plum orchards and vineyards. One other great thing about this house is the 10m x 5m ceramic tiled pool which is set on the hill side gives you the feeling of an infinity pool. The Lot et Garonne is a fantastic area of South West France with great scenery and lots of places to visit and enjoy. Easy to get to by road – with motorways all the way through northern France to within some 20 minutes of Duras and served by airports at both Bergerac, some 40 minutes away and Bordeaux just 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Duras has fantastic markets, local shops, 3 boulangeries, at least 3 caves for your local wine and a good selection of restaurants.

Changeover day
Changeover is on a Saturday. Departure by 10am and arival after 4pm please.

Outside
Big garden and very quiet lane is ideal for children to explore. Private pool 10x5m with views over valley. 1.5 acres or garden, BBQ area with gas BBQ (in high summer you need to be able to turn down the heat quickly!), undercover eating area, outdoor teak table and chairs to seat 12, sun-loungers and pool toys.
Coast/Beach
The Atlantic coast is 90 mins, the dunes at Arachon are well worth a day out. The Lac de Castilgallard just 10 min drive away. This is a large lake with manmade beach, a lido, great family run restaurant and fishing. It is great for picnics and a lovely run around place for kids with a playground area. In high summer there is a charge of 1 euro per person per day.
Golf
The nearest courses are at Marmande approx 20 mins drive and Monestier about 20km away. More details can be found on website - please contact for details.
Travel
The closets airport is Bergerac about 45 mins away, Bordeaux about 75 mins and Toulouse about 2 hours.
Distances
Duras is about 3km, St Foy le Grande 18km, St Emillion 45km. Marmande 25km, Bordeaux about 80km and Archachon.

Shopping: local shops and supermarkets at Duras less than 5 mins by car. Hyper Market at Saint Foy le Grande 20 mins by car. Marmande 20 mins by car. Markets; Monday Duras, Tuesday La Reole, Wednesday Marmande, Thursday Eymet, Friday Monsegur, Saturday Saint Foy le Grande. You will be spoilt for choice in the local area for a variety of local and European cuisine in bars, cafes and restaurants. Duras - among others there is the Hotel de Ducs, 2 star rated and Le Terrace. Monsegur sports bar, The Collononnaise and a variety of café and bars. All the villages have bars and cafes – we have yet to have a bad experience in any!
