Manoir de La Foye built in the 1820s and has now been converted into this delightful complex of five gîtes. The Charentaise properties have been superbly renovated to a very high standard whilst retaining all of their original charm and atmosphere. Within the grounds are gardens with mature trees, a walnut orchard and a swimming pool When this is not in commission we have a Hot Tub. The stone gîtes are designed to provide year-round comfort in a supremely peaceful hamlet, well off the beaten track. Located in Charente-Maritime, the second sunniest region of France, Le Manoir de La Foye is in the rural hamlet of La Foye de Vinax. It is within 10 minutes drive of Néré, which has all the necessary amenities. Vineyards, extensive fields of wheat and sunflowers as well as the magnificent Forest of Aulnay surround the area. The region is renowned for its Cognac, Pineau, seafood, especially oysters, cheese and friendly people. A gloriously tranquil, unspoilt setting for a relaxing holiday.

La Ferme has a spacious fully equipped kitchen and family dining area. Leading off the kitchen is the large comfortable sitting room. There is a downstairs bathroom with WC. Upstairs there are 2 twin rooms and a substantial double bedroom, each featuring the local Charentaise stonework. There is a separate WC and a shower room. |

Le Gîte du Puits has a modern well equipped kitchen/dining area. The sitting room has a double sofa bed and direct access to the patio. There is a twin bedroom and a separate shower room with WC. |

L' Ecurie (Sleeps 6, 3 Bedrooms)

L'Ecurie is a large family gîte with a fully equipped traditional kitchen. Boasting a large sitting room with a separate dining area. There are two twin bedrooms and a comfortable double bedroom. The bathroom has a full size bath with shower and a separate WC. There is an additional shower room with hand basin and WC. |

Notes on accommodation
Every gîte has a fully equipped kitchen, including a full size hob and oven a microwave, dishwasher and fridge; ample crockery, cutlery and glassware are also provided. Each gîte has UK satellite TV and DVD player. There is a library with a selection of DVDs, videos and books for customers use. All the gîtes have full central heating except for L’Ecurie, which has electric heaters.
Outside
All the gîtes have their own personal outside seating area with an outside table, chairs and a parasol for shade and their own gas barbeque. There is also a lovely summer kitchen area with more tables, chairs and a traditional BBQ made from the old bread oven. There is a lovely swimming pool with plenty of loungers in a location that gets the sun all day long and situated far enough from the gîtes so as not to cause disruption to those wanting a quiet afternoon nap.
Coast/Beach
The glorious sandy Atlantic beaches are just over an hour’s drive away, and the beautiful Île de Ré makes a beautiful day out.
Golf
The courses at Cognac, Saints and Niort are all within 45 mins to an hours drive away.
Travel
Le Manoir La Foye is within easy reach of the A10 auto route (J33 & 34) giving full access to the Channel ports. St Malo is only just over 4 hours drive. We are just over an hour from the following: La Rochelle airport, Poitiers airport and TGV
Angoulême airport and TGV.
Distances
We are only 15 mins from the town of Aulnay and 10 mins drive to the small town of Néré.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance being paid six weeks before arrival.

Le Gite du Portail August 2009 - We have had a lovely time. This is only the second Gîte we have stayed in but we suspect it may have spoiled us for any others. The location is so peaceful and everything so clean and of such a high standard. Nick and Chania both work very hard to make sure everyone enjoys their stay. We hope to be back.

We are Nick and Chania and between us we have forty four years experience in owning and running self-catering businesses. We now own and run this beautiful complex of five gîtes in the Charente Maritime. We know holidays are very important so it is our aim to make sure that everything is perfect so that you have a relaxing and memorable visit to France.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
After 20 years owning and running self catering holiday business in Devon we got so fed up with the weather we decided to move south. We spent 3 years in our search for the perfect property but it was worth it in the long run.
