Le Tour de France passing close again in 2009. Le Chiroulet is a beautiful place to stay to enjoy the many all year round activities including walking, hiking, snow-shoeing skiing, mountain biking paragliding. There are many recognised walks straight from our home for all levels. We are less than 1 minute walk from the starting point of the trek to the beauty spot Lac Bleu (The Blue lake). The view from the house and the area provides plenty of scope for artists. We are just over ten minutes from the spa town of Bagneres de Bigorre which has plenty of shops restaurants, bars and also has the thermal baths which date back to the 17th century. Lourdes is only 40 minutes away and is situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees. La Mongie/Bareges are the largest ski resort in the Pyrenees which is only 35 minutes away. Our belief is that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance and are committed to meeting all needs.

Notes on prices
Prices are per room per night and include breakfast for 2 persons. All bookings of 3 nights or more throughout the year will require a 25% deposit the ramainder to be settled 8 weeks prior to arrival. From 23rd Dec 2008 to 2nd Jan 2009
3 night package 340 euros per person. 4 night package 450 euros per person. 5 night package 560 euros per person. Price includes Bed & Breakfast and evening meals including wine and treats, based on two persons sharing. Please see website for winter pack.
Notes on accommodation
The Guest Lounge is very spacious and has a real log burning fire to keep you warm on those chilly nights. Our dining area has a table large enough to take all the maps you need to prepare for your next day's challenge. All of our guest rooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard of comfort. Hairdryers are available in all rooms as well as tea and coffee making facilities which include instant and filter coffee. In our bedrooms we have beautiful bedding and Egyptian cotton towels.
Outside
We have a large terrace which offers stunning views of the mountains, and is perfect for relaxing on in the evenings with a glass of wine after a busy day.
Coast/Beach
By car: Our nearest beach is Barritz it is only a 2 hour drive away. Narbonne and the Mediterranean sea is only 3 hours.
Barcelona is 5 hours 40 mins.
Golf
The nearest 18 hole golf course is less that 20 minutes away above Bagneres de Bigorre where you have fabulous views of the Pic de Midi from nearly every hole.
Green fees are between 30 to 40 euros.
Skiing
La Mongie / Bareges is only 35 mins away which is ideal for all standards of skiers. Off Piste - yes with the Pic de Midi lift now open to groups (with a guide) wishing to attempt the descent from the observatory at 2877m right down into the resort at La Mongie with restaurants and bars.

If you are a keen walker who would like an alternative to skiing then why not try snowshoeing. Snowshoeing can be described as winter walking. On snowshoes you can go to places otherwise inaccessible in the snow, It has become very popular in the last ten years. In winter the mountains and forests around our home are transformed to a blanket of white.

For Walking only holidays we now offer a three nights stay which includes airport pick up and drop off, breakfast, packed lunches evening meals including wine. Total price for two persons 625 euros. Prices are for Tarbes/Pau Pyrenees airport.
Travel
All times are without breaks: Calais to Le Chiroulet 10 hours 20 mins 1127km. Le Havre to Le Chiroulet 9 hours 30 mins 994km. Santander to Le Chiroulet 4 ,hours 30 mins 437km . Bilbao to Le Chiroulet 3 hours 30 mins 339km.
Distances
The Cirque de Gavarnie is a famous example of a cirque in the central Pyrenees, in the Pyrenees National Park. The cirque is 800m wide (on the deepest point) and about 3000m wide at the top. With a large waterfall of 400m. This is only just an hour and 15 minutes drive from our home.

Owner has all the information regarding all local activities places of interest and restaurants etc. Our Chambres table d'hotes is just over ten minutes away from Bagneres de Bigorre which is perfect for house hunters. Some of the estate agents are English speaking and are very helpful. We are situated at the end of a Valley which is called Valley de Lesponne so after a busy day viewing houses you could relax by taking one of the many walks or strolls from the house. There are various outdoor activities but if you love walking hiking and cycling this is the place for you. If you are just a beginner or an advanced walker there are many routes for you to take without leaving our valley. Cabanes de la lit Lac de Peyrelade, Lac D’Ourrec, Also the beautiful Lac Bleu. All starting points are within 2 minutes walk from our home and La Croix de Beliou and various other routes are also in the valley. For anyone who loves walking and the outdoor life these routes are defiantly a must. With the GR10 passing close to our home at Lac Bleu. Perhaps you might see a Vulture or two that glide around these magnificent mountains and the beautiful wild flowers which are scattered around the trails. Packed lunches are available for your walks 7 euros per person. Evening meals are served 25 euros per person including wine. Wines and Beers are available at very reasonable prices.

A non-refundable 25% deposit is required within 7 days of reservation to secure the booking.
A non-refundable 25% deposit is required and the balance to be settled 8 weeks before arrival on all full and half board walking 5 and 7 night holiday bookings.
