The building is a restored 17th century stable with a 30 foot high ceiling, thick walls and electric heating. It is fully fitted out, all linen, towels and quilts are provided for a small xtra charge as well as cutlery and delph. With a microwave, TV. There is a pool and tennis court which is shared with the other owners (who are rarely there). It is very quiet and peaceful, in 6 acres of walled parkland. 120m from a charming village with weekly farmers market, 2 restaurants and 2 bars. 15 minutes from Plateau de Beille ski station, 25 minutes from Ax-les-Thermes ski station. Fishing, walking, megalithic cave drawings at Nieux (15 mins away). Historic Cathar castles. 20 mins from Foix, a major market town.

Car hire recommended. Fly to Toulouse, Carcassonne or Perpignon.
Distances
Village of Les Cabannes 120 metres, downhill. Two friendly Auberges (French country inns), local red wine a speciality, so getting back up the hill could be difficult!
Tarascon, 15 minutes.
Foix, 25 minutes.
