Available from May to Sept The cottage is set in a peaceful hamlet surrounded by spectacular lakes with sandy beaches, perfectly located to relax and enjoy the micro climate of the Charente, France's 2nd sunniest region. The farmhouse with original oak beams and bread oven has been renovated and equipped to an extremely high standard. Set in a private courtyard and to the side and rear of the property you will find 2 acres of garden enclosed within a laurel hedge and a variety of trees. Here you can play Petanque, Badminton, practice your golf swing or simply relax on the decking by the pool. Non sun worshippers are catered for with shaded areas for relaxing with a good book, maybe accompanied with a glass or two of the many excellent local wines. Only 6 mins drive from the pretty market town of Chabanais you are ideally located for golf, sight seeing, walking, cycling and fishing.

Each cottage has its own south facing patio area complete with garden furniture, BBQ and vine covered arbour. Shared 10x5m solar heated swimming pool is set in 2 acres of enclosed gardens. Separate children’s area complete with paddling pool, sand pit, swings, playhouse and croquet set plus many other small outdoor games. Petanque, Football net and badminton set for the older kids plus other games.
Coast/Beach
Surrounded by spectacular sandy man made beaches with safe swimming, pedaloes, canoes and non motorised water sports. Each lake has either a family run restaurant or bar/cafe with quality food at very competitive prices. The closest lake is 5km away and the furthest only 10km.
Golf
9 and 18 hole golf course only 20 mins away. Comes highly recommended by previous guests.
Travel
Distance form airports- Limoges 30 mins, Angouleme 50 mins and Poitiers airport 1 hour 40 mins away, Bordeaux and Bergerac approx 2hrs. Flights from Stansted, Liverpool, Southampton, Bristol, East Midlands and many more UK airports. See Ryanair, Flybe and BMI Baby websites for routes. Ferry ports St Malo 5 hrs away. Calais and Boulogne 8 hrs away.

Futuroscope - The European them park of moving images. Enjoy 3D Cyber trips and space missions, view films on giant flat, circular and spherical screens. The evening display is definitely worth staying for.
Confolens - A visit to the church of St Barthelemy and the timber framed buildings of the Rue de Soleil and the Ports d'Ansac is a must.
Booking notes
A non returnable deposit of 20% is required when making your booking. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to your arrival together with a damage deposit of £100. The damage deposit will be returned within 10 days of your departure should no major damage occur during your occupancy.
